Summary: After Miley’s breakup with Jake Ryan (Achy Jakey Heart), Miley realized that she didn’t want him away from her life. Jake has the same thoughts, but when rumors spread that Miley is dating Oliver, (and yes, just rumors, none of them are true) Jake thinks is chances are over. Miley hears these too, and wonders who would spread these rumors.

Chapter 1

Setting: Miley’s House

Robby Ray: Mornin’ bud, you ready for school after Labor Day weekend?
Miley: Yeah, whatever.
*Robby makes some pancakes with milk then asks Miley*
Robby: Have you heard in the news? “Jake Ryan’s going to New York the same time Hannah Montana has her concert in the Big Apple”!
Miley: Jake? Aw who cares!
Robby: Bud, I know that look.
Miley: What look???
Robby: The one you have plastered on your face when there’s something on your mind.
Miley: *sighs* Well, I know this is totally weird, but for some reason, I still have… some feelings for… Oh never mind!
Robby: Who?
Miley: I said, “Never mind!”!
Robby: C’mon, bud, you know you can trust your ole man!
Miley: I still… have some feelings… for… Jake.
Robby: I thought that you thought that he was too obnoxious.
Miley: Well, maybe I’ve been too harsh. Oh, who am I kidding?? Jake won’t like me after what I did!
Robby: Speaking of which, there’s a letter from a Lesley?
Miley: Gimme that!

Dear Miley,
I feel terrible about being so obnoxious. I don’t want to do anything like that again. I have someone that’s gonna help me be more like a normal person like you. I also plan to go to your school and act like a normal person. You should be able to recognize me. But if not, I will promise to let you know I’m there. I miss and hope to see you again.

Lilly: Hey Miley! Guess what! We have a new student, and he looks freakishly familiar!

Oliver and Lilly: Who?!
Miley: *whispers* Jake.
Lilly and Oliver: WHAT?!
Miley: Shh!
Girl: Did you hear? Miley Stewart’s dating Oliver!
Boy: Really?

Skunkle (haha, I’m evil!): Class I know it’s a little strange for this to happen during the middle of the school year, but, please welcome our new student,Ryan Taylor.
Amber: Hey, cutie.
“Ryan”: Uh, hi. Bye.
Lilly: He sounds just like Jake.
Miley *whispers*: I told you!
*After class; Miley’s locker*
Lilly: I still can’t believe *whispers* Jake *not whispering* is at our school!
Oliver: I know! How’d you know there’d be a new kid that’s Jake?
Lilly and Miley: Shhhh!!!
Miley: Oliver! It seems like you can’t keep secrets except my “little” one.
Oliver: Sorry! That’s why mom likes me! Because I keep telling secrets!
Miley: Well you might as well have duct tape on your mouth, bub!
Lilly: That’s kinda funny! And is bub even a word?
Miley: No, pretty much, my dad and I invented it.
*Mr. Corelly’s classroom*
Corelly: Welcome class, I’m sure some of you have already welcomed our new student, Ryan Taylor.
Amber, Ashley, Miley, Oliver, Lilly, and Dandruff Danny: Yep.

Miley: Well, since you were gone, Oliver and I were hanging out because you were gone, and we don’t have any friends except me, you, and Oliver and people thought we were dating ever since.
Lilly: So that’s why people are spreading rumors about that?
Oliver and Miley: Yep.
Ryan: What was that all about?
Amber: Well, last week, Miley and Oliver started dating, and they were hanging out all week.
Ashley: And that’s why.
Ashley and Amber: It’s really weird. Oooo! Tsssssss!
Ryan: Oookay…
*The bell rings for the end of lunch, Amber porously bumps into Miley, making her drop her tray*
Amber: Be careful where you’re going!
Ashley: Yeah!
Amber and Ashley: And ask your boyfriend to help you! Oooo! Tsssssss! Hahahaha.
*Jake gives Miley a sympathetic look, and then continues to follow Amber and Ashley*

Setting: Study Hall
Aw, man! I can’t believe Miley’s dating Oliver. I lost my chance. I might as well die. But then, what about Zombie High? Oh crud. I’m so stupid! Darn. Jake was trying to calm himself during Study Hall, but didn’t really work. He tried to look on the bright side of things, but no path there, either.
Why would people think that me and Oliver are dating? We only hang out because Lilly was sick and I had no other friend. Aw man, Jake might think that we are dating! If he still likes me, he’s lost his chance, or so he thinks.
Setting: Lilly’s house

Miley: Aw man! Lilly, how can I show Jake that Oliver and I never dated?
Lilly: Hm… have you even talked to him?
Miley: Acheeh... No.
Lilly: Exactly.
Miley: Lilly, focus and pay attention! Didn’t you see anything about Amber and Ashley being overly protective about him? Their all like, “Back off, woman! He’s mine!” It’s like he’s already dating them!
Lilly: Hey, how about we sleep on it, and present our ideas tomorrow?
Miley: Lilly, that’s why I love you!
Lilly: LYLAS?
