PLOT:
Miley Stewart's life is going great until she is sixteen. She becomes really close with the JB's, and even starts dating Nick. After about a year of knowing them, she finally works up the courage to tell them about her double life. Things go smoothly at first, but what happens when Nick accidentally calls Miley by her real name on STAGE while they're touring together, and isn't able to cover it up well?!?!?

Chapter 1
-"Nobody's Perfect" ... even Nick.


"Hey sweetie!" Nick smiled, grasping Miley's shoulder from behind her and giving her a gentle kiss on the cheek.

Miley jumped for a second, startled, and then calmed down when she saw Nick behind her.

"You scared me!" she giggled, giving him a hug.

The two were now sixteen, and Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers were on tour together for the summer.

"I can't believe we starting touring tonight! Our first show is in 10 minutes!" Miley exclaimed, her eyes widening with excitement, her heart pounding in anticipation.

"I know!" Nick grinned, feeling identical emotions.

Miley grabbed her Hannah wig and handed it to Nick. Nick helped her put it on, fixing each individual piece of hair until it was perfect.

"You look great, hun." Nick gave her a gentle kiss on the lips and turned to walk away.

"See you on stage!" Miley laughed, twirling one piece of her wig between her fingers.



The performance in L.A. went smoothly for the first half of the show. Both Hannah and the JB's sang great, and the crowd was really pumped! Until suddenly, at the end of the first act before intermission, Nick said something he shouldn't have ...

"Miley, can you come here? I need to talk to you ..."

"Okay," Miley responded, walking over to Nick.

"We're sixteen Miley .. and ... I really think you should tell everyone that Miley is really Hannah Montana. About your whole double life and stuff."


Little did they know that their microphones were still on. And the entire audience could hear them.

Silence filled the air.

Chapter 2
Why can't we Start All Over?



"You did WHAT?!?!?" Miley shrieked in horror, backstage just after the concert. She felt like she couldn't breathe. Was this really happening? It couldn't be. It had to be a dream. She'd wake up tomorrow, and Miley and Hannah would be two different people... or would they?

"I - I'm sorry..." Nick stuttered, grasping Miley's hand in desperation. "I really, really am. I wouldn't have done it if I had known our microphones were still on!" Nick was on the verge of tears, seeing Miley distressed and confused like this.

"Nick, you think 'SORRY' fixes this little problem this time?!?!? Again and AGAIN you nearly slip about Hannah, and this time you actually DID! Do you know how much you just ruined my life?!? We can't just start all over this time!!" Miley roared, ripping her Hannah wig off her head and throwing it on the ground, stomping on it in anger.

Nick was stunned. He no longer felt bad for the girl he had just been begging for forgiveness from. "Why is everything always MY fault? Do you EVER put the blame on yourself?" Nick snapped, refusing to raise his voice. "You know what?" he said, tilting his head, "We're through. I'm not always gonna be here to help you through your little problems and tantrums. So you best learn how to care for yourself."

And with that, Nick let go of her hand and walked away, grabbing the rest of the JB's with him.

"Joe, Kevin, we need to get out of here..." Nick said, glancing at Miley, and they understood and began to walk out.

"Wait!!!!" Miley's eyes teared up, her heart pounding. What had she just done? "Get baackkkk! Please?!?"

Miley's helpless pleas were worthless, and Nick didn't even look back at her as he walked out the door with his brothers next to him.

What did I just do? Miley thought, Maybe Nick ISN'T the one who just ruined my life ... maybe this time it was me...

Chapter 3
You're One in a Million, Nick ...


Miley sat next to her father backstage, waiting for the Jonas Brothers to arrive. She sat silently as she waited. The air seemed to be silent, even though the hustle and bustle of the concert set-up echoed loudly throughout the area. After what felt like hours of waiting, Miley finally saw all of the JB's walk in -- including Nick.

Miley jumped up as quickly as she could and grabbed Nick's arm. "Nick, please talk to me!" she whined in desperation, her eyes wide with hope and her heart pounding with fright. Nick's glare could have killed, his eyes like tiny slits and his fists clenched.

"Don't talk to me," he hissed, walking as quickly as he could towards his dressing room. His goal was to try and not talk to her. He knew that if he started to even talk to her, he would cave in -- he was too forgiving.

"Nick! Please talk to me!" she cried, her voice filled with desperation. "I'm begging you."

But Nick just kept on walking forward.

Miley walked out on stage, her heart pounding and her mind racing. This was her first concert since Nick had announced her secret to everyone on stage, and she was worried. This morning, the tabloids and newspapers all read something like, "Hannah or Miley?" or "Who is this Miley?".

And yet, when Miley waved to the crowd from the stage, the fans shrieked with pure excitement. They still wanted her out on stage! Miley felt relieved and excited at the same time now -- but Nick was still in the back of her mind. What could she do to gain him back? She'd obviously made a mistake, but what could she do to forgive him?

Miley slowly grabbed the microphone, and began to speak to the crowd. "The first song I'm gonna sing tonight is called "One in a Million". I'd like to send it out to a special someone that I'd really like to apologize to. We were together for a very long time, and I'd really like to get back to that. This person is my one in a million. You know who you are."

Miley gazed out into the front row, catching a glimpse of Nick's face. She couldn't stand to look at him, so she turned away quickly and began to sing. She sang with every ounce of passion and soul she had inside of her, tears nearly flooding her eyes as she sang.

After the song was over, she felt much better about herself. She had tried her very hardest to get Nick back, and hopefully this had been enough. She felt like she'd gotten a lot off of her chest, and she closed her eyes and breathed out.

She gazed out into the crowd to try and catch see Nick's reaction, but she was distracted by something else -- her best friend, Lily, sitting and laughing with Amber and Ashley?!?

Chapter 4
I thought you were a True Friend?




Miley couldn't stop looking at Lilly throughout the rest of the show. First they were laughing together. Next, they were showing each other their cell phones and iPods. And now? Now, they all simultaneously said -- "Oooh, tsssss", putting their fingers together at the same time. Miley's insides were boiling, feeling like she wanted to explode in anger. She grabbed the micropone and squeezed it tight.

"My next song is called True Friend," she said, with a fake smile on her face, "I hope you like it!" she giggled, discreetly glaring at Lilly.

Miley sang the song with a Barbie-plastered smile the entire time, hugging her on-stage dancers and dancing happily. When the song was over, however, so was the show. Miley was so happy to finally be done with this show -- it felt like the worst she had ever done. Miley waved to the crowd one last time, and stormed off the stage.

"Daddy, find Lilly!" she shouted, her eyes slits, her teeth clenched in despair.

"Calm down, bud, calm down!" Billy Ray moaned, putting a hand on Miley's shoulder. "What's happening?"

Miley's eyes were tearing. "When I looked out in the audience, I saw Lily sitting and laughing with Amber and Ashley," she frowned. Nick was now the last thing on her mind.

Suddenly, she saw Lilly walking out of the arena, linking arms with Amber and Ashley. They started to walk torward her, and Miley quickly pulled off her wig. "Miley!" Lilly ran over and hugged her.

Miley stood their motionless, showing no emotion.

"What's wrong?" Lilly said, confused, tilting her head to one side.

"Why are you hanging out with Amber and Ashley?" Miley hissed, trying to keep her cool. Miley noticed that Lilly was now wearing a pink miniskirt, silver heels and a sparkly, silver sequin shirt. What had happened to her?

Lilly roller her eyes. "Because since Nick revealed your little "Hannah" secret, we're like," Lilly started, "popular! duh!" she finished in a sing songy voice.

"You think I'm gonna be friends with Amber and Ashley now or something?" Miley questioned. "Just because they're nice to me now doesn't change what they did to us before." Miley said, trying to change Lilly's view.

Lilly laughed, "Uhm, yes it does! Think about this, Miley -- instant popularity! Boys falling all over you! THIS is the life! Hold on tight!" Lilly giggled at her choice of words from one of Hannah's songs.

"No, Lilly -- I just can't. So it's either me or them." Miley said sternly, knowing Lilly would never choose them over her.

"Pshh, fine!" Lilly snapped, "It's them. Your choice, not mine, so don't blame me." And with that, Lilly went back to Amber and Ashley, linked arms with them, and strutted away.


Miley was heartbroken. Not only had she lost her boyfriend, but she'd lost her best friend, too.

Chapter 5
You're Right Here again?!?!?



Miley leaned against the wall behind and slid down to the ground, crouched down in a ball. Could things get any worse? Nick wouldn't talk to her, Lilly had found new best friends, and the whole world knew about the secret she had been able to keep for so long.

However, before she could even think of anything else that was wrong with her life, a figure walked through the door and her eyes widened with shock. Her first instinct was to run up to him and give him a hug, and so that's what she did.

"Oh my gosh!" she shrieked, embracing him, "It's so good to see you!" She finally let go of him. Her face was wide with excitement and joy, and she was glad when she looked at him and saw an identical emotion.

This mystery boy, that I have not yet named, was one whom Miley had once dated, but they broke up about a year and a half ago. They remained friends, however. Miley had not spoken to this boy in nearly a year because of his movie filmings. This boy, if you've not already guessed, was none other than Jake Ryan.

"How are you?" Jake laughed, putting his arm around Miley and sitting down next to her on a bench.

"I'm great, you?" she smiled from ear to ear, "How'd the movie filming go?"

"Oh, just fantastic!" Jake grinned, "You're going to love it."

"What's it even about?" she giggled.

"You'll see."

Miley twirled her hair with one finger, eying Jake up and down. He was wearing jeans, a blue t-shirt and white Nike sneakers. Nothing special, but it seemed to look so great on him.

"So ... how's your secret been doing?" Jake said, his voice suddenly becoming a bit more stern, but a grin still plastered on his face.

"You haven't heard?" Miley whispered, frowning. "It got out. Nick accidentally said it to everyone while we were on stage."

"Ouch .." Jake said, the smile also leaving his mouth. "I'm sorry. You know, I never would have let that happen to you .."

The one thing Miley disliked about their friendship was that Jake was always bringing up reasons why he was better than Nick. Since Miley had been the one who broke up with Jake, I guess he never truly got over their relationship. Things would go smoothly between them, until Nick was brought up.

"Mmm..." was all Miley had to say to that. She didn't want to talk about it.

Miley took a quick glance at her diamond studded watch, and realized she was late for pizza with Oliver. "Ugh, I have to go. But it was SO good seeing you!" Miley smiled truthfully, "Call me soon?"

"For sure," Jake nodded, bringing Miley into another close hug.

And that's when Miley felt it. She felt his heartbeat against hers. She could feel the skin on his arms, wrapped around her body -- and she could feel the undeniable connection between them, and how much she longed for them to be more than friends once again.
