its an amazing movie its about this girl(Emily) Cassie who just moved and doesnt really fit in and then she finds this weird store and buys a book called "the evil thing" she reads it then the beast comes to life, i dont wanna give away to much but its AWSOME

it's alright if emily nd cody weren't stars it would prob suck.... the lil boy is annoying but cody's character is funni and emily's character is addicting liek u fall in love w/ her nd just wanna see wat she does next so she plays it really well nd so does cody but other than that it's just another stupid lowbudget kids film....

It's the best movie everrrrrrr!!!
It's about this goth girl named Cassie who moves to a new place and to a new school. She loves to scare people and is very misunderstood. On her way to the library one day, she finds a Halloween Store down an alleyway. The mysterious store owner shows her a book called "The Evil Thing" and she buys it. On Halloween, her parents pur her in charge of her little brother Max, who's kinda afraid of everything. Her mom gives her rules and says not to scare him or read any scary stories to him. But when Max accidentally turns Cassie's computer off while she's typing a long report, she gets angry at him and decides to read him the book just to scare him. Ignoring the warning on the first page, DO NOT READ ALOUD, she reads it to Max before bed. The last sentence of the book is "But don't worry, don't cry, please don't have a fit. The Evil Thing is not real...Unless you think about it. Remember, don't think about it." And Max thinks abotu it anyway of course and the monster comes alive and kidnaps him and a popular girl from Cassies' school. Then, Cassie must team up with Sean, a popular guy from her school, to save Max and Priscilla and destory the thing once and for all.
