Has anyone seen it yet?
I saw it and I thought it was pretty good.
Not great, just good.
They changed waayyyy too much stuff.
The funny thing is that it's the longest book (870 pages) and the shortest movie :P
*WARNING: Spoilers ahead*
The things that they changed are:
Harry and Dumbledore's talk at the end was way shortened.
Neville wasn't even mentioned to have anything to do with the prophecy.
When Harry was taking Occlumency lessons from Snape he used a spell to protect himself and he saw into Snape's thoughts and memories.
Lucius Malfoy forced Harry to give him the prophecy, then HE dropped it.
The prophecy was way shortened and it wasn't mentioned that it had anything to do with Professor Trawleny [sp?].
They completely cut out the little side story with the giants.
There was no Quiddich, or even Quiddich mentioned in any way which changed the story becuase in the book Ron was the Quiddich keeper which complicated his relationship with Harry.
Sirius' death lasted for about thirty seconds and that was all they said about it.
*end spoilers*
What did you guys think of it?
I'm really excited for the new book! Only 10 more days =]

i saw it at midnight last night =D
i think i liked it a little better then you did.
it's my personal favorite out of all the HP movies;
& i think they did well trying to include most things
seeing as the book was nearly 900 pages.
if the movie was any longer; i think it would be waayyy too dragged out.
of COURSE it didn't live up to the book; but it was still really good =D

Yeah. I think they could have included a BIT more stuff though. With 15 extra minutes [making it 2 and a half hours] they could have done soooo much more. All the other movies were longer, but the Goblet of Fire was way too long.
Oh well.
I thought it was better than the last movie, but I liked the third movie the best still.
I'm seeing it tomorrow night.
even if my eye is still messed up NOTHING will stop me from seeing this movie!!!!!
Hope your eye gets better [whatever is wrong with it]

I saw it at midnight and I dressed up as Hermione. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've seen it twice in one day cuz I saw it at 2:00 today too. Lolz. I liked it even though it left those things out, though I do wish they'd put Ron playin Quidditch in there. And Harry and Cho's date! I'm obsessed with it now tho.

yeah i saw it. i liked it awhole lot. it disappointed me that they didnt go into the whole thing how hermione werent made prefects in the movie like in the book and the Quidditch thing because i wanted to see ron play AND when ron and george were leavin they didnt do the swamp thing instead it was just fireworks but other than that i really liked it and i want to see it again. the special effects were amazing. i still dont like this dumbledore as much as the first one but oh well.

i saw the midnight premiere and i thought it was AWESOME! but there was WAY too many things cut out, like the things you said and then when they enter the Department of Mysteries there was no doors and they didn't go into that room with the brains and Ron didn't get all crazy and strangled by them. soo it was WAYY TO SHORT for me but i still liked it alot!

i dont care for the books..im not big on reading and i just didnt like the books as much..
but i thought it was the best movie so far out of all 5
im really excited for the next 2 that they have
but i think that some of the ending to it has been given away since the 7th book is coming out, even though i didnt read the 6th one to know hwa thappens everyones saying harry dies? well then that pretty much gave away who wins teh battle that they talk about in the 5th movie

No not quite.
It's MUCH more complicated than that.
You see, in the sixth book the discuss horcruxes.
Horcruxes are objects [or things] that someone can split their soul and tie part of their soul to that object.
Voldemort has seven Horcruxes.
6 things, and one that is his actual body.
A lot of people think that Harry Potter himself is a Horcrux and that the only way for Voldemort to die would be for Harry to also die himself.
And we dont' KNOW that Harry dies.
It's just fans speculating.
The author revealed that FOR SURE two big characters die.
But we dont' know who yet.
You really think after nearly 10 years and billions of copies of books sold that the author is just going to let us down and have Voldemort win?
I sure dont' think so.
I guess I'll have to wait 8 more day to find out though.

Yes, I saw the movie on Wednesday. I thought it was amazing! Definitely the best so far.
But I agree, they left out a lot of things. Like Career Advice and Umbridge's sit-in on McGonagall's class. I was looking forward to that. And I was disappointed that they didn't have Ron and Hermione be made prefects.
AND they didn't go see Lockhart in the hospital or Neville's parents! I wanted to see that!! And they didn't make O.W.L.s such a big deal like in the books.
AND NEVILLE showed them the Room of Requirement? I mean, what was that all about? And they didn't have SPEW in the 5th or the 4th! And Hermione didn't make clothes, and they didn't even have Winky in the 4th which disappointed me.
I thought it shoudl ahve been longer, and I though they should ahve put in Quidditch. With Angelina as captain and everything. That would have made it soo much better.
They better put Quidditch in the next one, because Harry's captain! *Sigh*
Oh, well, though. I mean, this book was majorly long, so I'm sure the producers and director and writers did the best they could. And it was still an amazing movie.

yeah ^^^ I agree with you there should of been more things, i mean i bet we aren't the only ones who would stay in the theater for 4 hours!
I am going to see the movie again tonight at eight. I wanna see it as many times as i can.
P.S. I don't understand how they didn't have the portable swamp, Filch just CAME IN with a mop as they did fireworks! that was disapointing. And how they made it look like Cho told Umbridge! HER FRIEND DID AND SHE GOT THAT SNEAK ON HER FACE! i was disapointed about that too. I STILL LOvED IT THOUGH! *mwah mwah mwah mwah# kisses to ron of course!

books are different, things in the book would be stupid in movies or so on......just remember that not everything in the book was linked to the story, they left out the bits they didnt need to show.
