It depends on when you first started school, I started early when I was a baby. I'm 15 now and going into the 10th grade when the new school year starts, but I just turned 15 this month, so, i'd say you're on track.

She'd have to be 14 if she's in 8th grade. 12th grade is 18, 11th is 17, 10th is 16, 9th is 14, and 8th is 13. Miley goes to Seaview Middle School. But 8th grade is Junior High. They probably just have the 8th and 7th grades (Junior High classes) in the same building as the middle school (it's like that where I live). By the way, any idea of what time of year it is supposed to be on the show ? I remember in the episode where Miley's dad was dating Margo Diamond, Miley mentioned mid terms. Wouldn't that make it about the middle of January, wouldn't it ? Or is mid term half of a school year or half of a semester (about 9 weeks)? If it's half of a semester, then that would make the show (the dad dating episode, anyway) the end of October. It's hard to tell with the show being set in southern California because they don't really have seasons. It's just a guess but I'd say the show is supposed to be closer to Christmas than Halloween. Just a guess. Since she just turned 14, that means she'll be starting high school (9th grade) in the fall. So, when the school year ends, Miley will be 14. When 9th grade starts, she'll still be 14. A couple of months into the school year, she'll turn 15. If this is so, then that would mean that Miley would be 17 in the very beginning of 12th grade and turn 18 a couple of months into her senior year. Sorry about running off on this little tangent but I'm kind of a stickler for details.

On this one interview in Disney 411, the actor who plays Jackson said that the show was about "a thirteen year old girl living a double life as a rockstar" ,and that was before the episode "It's a Mannequin's World". But, int he first episode the guy at the beginning said "14 year old sensation Hannah Montana" so maybe she was 14 as Hannah Montana and 13 as Miley when the show started?
