View Full Version : No need to be anorexic or bullimic...

There is really no need for eating disorders to lose weight, just eat healthier and exersize to lose a little weight!

A start to eating healthier is to bring lunch. Most of the time school lunches are unhealthy. A great example lunch is:

- A turkey sandwich
- a fruit cup
- Celery with peanut butter on top
- 2 Girl Scout Cookies

Then, after school, eat carrots in hummus or an apple or something healthy. Don't splurge! And for breakfast, eat a bowl of cereal or a grapefruit or something.
And make sure to go outside and run or bike or to your local gym and work out a couple times a week. Usually there will be a neighborhood bike trail or a school track. The actual exersize reccommended for teens is 20 - 50 minutes 3 - 5 days a week.

It's definitely not hard!

What I eat for a sandwich is ham or you can use another meat, and you put them on both slices of bread, then I add lettace on both and then add my vinigarette(sp?), you can use any dressing, then I put the two slices of bread together, like a sub but with bread. You can add anything else you put on a sub.

Yeah when I was little we made the ants something something where you used celery, then peanut butter, then raisnis, but I never used the raisins, I hate raisins

no no no. you need to eat more for breakfast, since it is the first meal of the day you have to seet your metabolism right (how much you normally eat) if you eat small like that (bowl of cereal, or a fruit) then you will be hungry for the rest of teh day so you will keep eating. so a good example of a good breakfast is:

2 pancakes
some baconlittle eggs
glass of milk or juice

well, the only thing is that I don't have enough time to make that stuff. I'd suggest is cereal, a bagle with peanutbutter, butter, and that bagle stuff or whatever, and then some fruit. Trust me it'll fill you up. And pancakes make me hungry.

I think I'm fat too. but Jenny told me I wasn't fat as well (that was a few months ago, maybe i'm fatter now :lol:)

I try to lose weight by limiting my junk food and exercising, but I just seem to be staying at the same weight and not really seeing any progress. i'm NOT going to become anorexic or bullimic because
1. i LOVE food too much
and
2. Throwing up makes me feel icky ;)

Before anyone takes your advice, I need to say something.

NEVER eat white bread, it's not that it's unhealthy, but it's has no energy or anything in it, so if you eat a sandwich with white bread, you're going to get hungry again really quickly... and it don't get your stomach to work, so you're going to get ill eventually.

NEVER eat ONLY a fruit to breakfast, you're going to faint (that happened to my brothers classmate after only eating an orange to breakfast in a week).

Eating healthy doesn't mean eating as little as possible, it means eating healthy meals on a regular basis, it's important!
And instead of taking the bus or making someone drive you to school, walk or take the bike (if you have one)...

You have to exercise at least 20 minutes, 6 days a week to get in shape, and that includes healthy food... one fruit a day, no white bread and no sugary cereals, okay? good :P

OMG that is so rude! how can they say it that way? I can't believe it!
I swear you're not fat, I mean it's okay to be a little overweight, but it's unhealthy to be fat... and if your friends tell you that you're not fat, trust them! if you can't, then ask your school nurse!

Here is a whole day's meals

For breaksfast
Do
-Drink milk, it's really healthy, full of calcium and it's a great way to start out a day
-And actually you should try Frosted Flakes for cereal because even if it looks like a big box of sugar it really isn't. Frosted Flakes have a lot of calcium and vitamins and barely have any calories.
-You should always try to eat 1 or 2 pancakes but go easy with the syrup because the pancake absorbs the syrup so even when it looks like there's no more syrup, there is plenty

Don't
-Drink a Soda....(duh);)
-Eat a lot of bacon it's ok to have one piece of bacon, but bacon is just fat and grease
-try to eat a whol lot of sausages, it can slow you down during the day
-Eat a McDonalds or Burger King Breakfast one of those pancakes are worth like 500 calaries




For Lunch
Do....
-Eat vegetables, like baby carrots but not a lot of ranch.
-If you are at school eating lunch try to pick the healthiest thing on the menu or birng a home lunch packed with meat,grains, fruit, vegetables and a healthy drink. A healthy home lunch could be like what Aly<33 said A turkey sandwich is good, try a turkey sandwich with cheese and that'll cover your grains, dairy, and meat food groups then throw in like a banana or an orange not a tangerine or a mandarine(sp?) orange just one big ol fat juicy orange! lol and that preety much covers your fruit then throw in some baby carrots and there's your vegetables! am i missing anything? i hope not

What I usually have for meals on a school day...


Breakfast; nothing, no time and I'm not hungry until snack, which is when I
should wake up. XP

Snack; peppers or one cookie. No dressing.

Lunch; whichever one I didn't eat from snack. A sandwhich [usually ham with
lettuce]

Snack at Home; now this is where all my weight comes from. I've eaten up to
THREE BAGELS. Or cereal, lots. I'm now trying to limit this.

Dinner; whatever my mom makes. Usually somewhat healthy; meat,
vegetables, and a side.


I rarely exercise, though. Why I'm so big. But now I'm trying to run on the
treadmill for 20 minutes every other day. Then I'll up it to 30, then every
day, then 40, then 50, then 60.

my school starts at 8:25 and i get up at 7-7:30 (depending)
so i never eat breakfeast I'm never hungry
or ill eat at the school

I don't have celery but it is good!

In school we are learning about the Circulatory syestem... you know with the heart(I get super sick:() but basicly too much food makes it harder for blodd to flow. so cut down a tad

I'm not overweight but the way I eat it seems like I should be! I'm trying to cut down on the junkfood. And now that softball has started I get more exercise because I have it 4-6 days a week adn we're very active. I also take my dog for a walk almost everyday and my mom makes healthy meals so I'm ok. I still think I should eat healthier like switch out a cookie with a granola bar or switch out potato chips for banana chips or something.
