These Wounds Won’t Seem To Heal<<<FanFic by moi!

Chapter 1: The time of their lives.
“Lilly! Hurry up we’ll be late for the bus ride home if you don’t hurry!” Miley Stewert told her best friend Lilly Truscott as she packed up her stuff to go home.

“Jeez Louise, Miley I’m hurrying!” she said, out of breath.

“C’mon! We HAVE GOT to get to the mall! I saw the CUTEST pair of shorts ever and if I don’t buy them now, I might die!” Miley said worriedly.

“Ehmagawd we have to get out of here.” Lilly said, sarcastically to her friend.

Eventually, Lilly did finish and the two girls got home on the bus and headed to the mall.

“OH MY GOD you were right!” Lilly squealed as Miley walked out of the dressing room in the adorable denim shorts, “Those are ah-dorable on you!!!!”.

“I think I’ll buy them.” Miley said looking down at the price. Her eyes widened, “$85.00?!?!?!” she half screamed. “I can’t afford these!”

“Miley, it’s Friday, splurge!!!” Lilly said happily.

“Your right,” she said as she went back into the dressing room to put her equally adorable light pink skirt on “I think I’ll buy it.”

The two girls spent their day buying oodles upon oodles of gorgeous clothes and were having so much fun, they almost forgot the time. Until Miley looked down at her watch and gasped.

“IT’S ALMOST 8:00!! WE HAVE TO GET HOME!” she yelled.

Miley and Lilly ran, arms filled with shopping bags, all the way back to Miley’s beachhouse.

“Well, it’s about time girls.” Miley’s father Robby Ray said as the girls walked in the doors, “I was about to send out a search party.”

“Sorry daddy.” Miley said sweetly.

“Yeah, sorry Mr. Stewert, but we’re girls so shopping takes us hours to do.” Lilly said.

“So Lilly, I suppose you’re staying for dinner?” Robby Ray asked.

“Sure! That sounds great!” Lilly said back.

After dinner, Lilly stayed over at Miley’s house and they had a sleepover.

“This is the funnest day of my life!” Lilly yelled as Miley hit her with a pillow.

“Yeah, this is great!” Miley said as she got hit with a pillow by Lilly.

The girls spent the night giggling and laughing all not long.

Now, this fanfic of mine, Is a little sad, so if you cry easily, DO NOT READ!!!!

Chapter 2: Disappointment and Pain.

“The other side, the other side,

Hannah Montana finished performing her hit song “The Other Side Of Me” and ran offstage to meet her dad.

“Darlin’ that was great!” Robby Ray said as he hugged her.

“Thanks Daddy. Hey, where’s Lilly? She always comes to my concerts.” Hannah said looking around.

Her dad ignored the question and changed the subject, “Well, let’s head home.” He said.

They walked out to the limo and drove back to Miley’s beach-house. Miley wondered why Lilly hadn’t come to the show. Does she not like me anymore? Miley thought worriedly. Did I do something wrong yesterday? She walked into her house and headed straight back to her secret Hannah Montana closet. She always came here when she needed to think.

She removed her wig and put on some more normal clothes, and made popcorn. She sat down on her couch and watched Romeo & Juliet.

Miley was sobbing her heart out when there was a knock at the door. She paused the movie and wiped her eyes dry.

“Come in” she said.

Her dad entered, he looked very sad.

“Daddy? What’s wrong?” Miley ran over and hugged her father.

“Honey, I have some very bad news.” He replied sadly,

Miley braced herself. “Ok, what is it?”

Her dad cleared his throat, “Well, Lilly’s parents were driving her to the concert and they crashed head-on with another car.” He said.

Miley’s eyes widened. So this is why Lilly didn’t come to the show. Well, at least she doesn’t hate me. “Go on.” She told her father.

“Her mom died.” He said.

“Oh! That’s awful! Lilly must be horrorstruck right now!” Miley said.

“Well, honey, that’s not all. It gets worse.” His face was getting red.

“Ok, tell me. I can handle it.” She replied.

“First, sit down.” He said. She sat down and listened.

“Honey, Lilly….. she’s…….. Miley, Lilly’s dead. I’m so sorry.” He said.

Chapter 3: “No!”

Miley stood there, stunned. Waiting for her dad to say something like “Got’cha!” or “April fool!” but he never did.

Miley backed away from her father, trying to hold back the tears.

“No. You’re……You’re lying!” she cried. How could Lilly possibly be dead? It’s not possible! I don’t believe it! I won’t believe it!

“Mile-“ her father began to say

“NO! SHE’S NOT DEAD!” Miley yelled, her tears stinging her cheeks.

“Honey, stop.” He dad said. “Come here” he said opening his arms to hug her.

“No. I want to be alone.” Miley said quietly.

“Ok. I’m really sorry honey.” He said as he opened the door to her closet to leave.

“I k-know” Miley said, starting to sob.

The door closed behind him and just when she heard the door click shut, she threw herself down on her chair and cried her heart out. She felt sick, as if she would throw up at any moment. Her stomach hurt and her throat felt as if it was closing. She had a empty space in her heart that was eating away at her. Why did Lilly have to die? Why did she leave me? My best friend in the whole world is dead?! Why is this happening to me? Why now?

“I didn’t even get to say goodbye.” Miley said aloud. “I miss her so much.”

Miley decided that she would sing a song for her best friend. She gathered all the pictures she had of herself and Lilly together and put them in the middle of the room. Then she got her guitar and sang a song that she thought was very appropriate for the occasion.

“These wounds won’t seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There’s just too much that time cannot erase
When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears
When you’d scream I’d fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me.”

“That was just beautiful darlin’” her father’s voice said from the doorway.

“Thanks.” She said as more tears gathered in her eyes. “I miss her so much.” Her voice trembled.

“I know baby doll. But, at least you have lots a wonderful memories of you and her that you’ll remember forever. Do you want to go to her funeral tomorrow?” he asked her.

“Yes, I do.” Miley said, quietly.

“Ok honey.” He said, hugging her.

Chapter 3: The Funeral

Miley, her dad, and her brother Jackson stepped out of their car and walked to the cemetery.
Miley was wearing all black and she was wearing and black eyeliner and lipstick. She felt alone and afraid.

When it was her turn to speak, she went up to the altar and even though her voice was trembling, she managed to choke out: “Lilly was the best friend I ever had. I never thought there would be a day when she wasn’t here. All the times she made me laugh when I was sad, and when she would mope with me when I was depressed. I really needed her. But, while she was with me, I had the best days of my life. She was the person who made me strong and yesterday, I wasn’t sure if I could survive without her but she made me strong enough to keep going. I love her and I’ll never ever forget her. She was my best friend. She was my hero. She was everything to me. I will love her forever and I will never forget the memories we had together. Lilly, wherever you are, I hope you fly with angels. Rest in peace.” Miley sobbed. She walked off the podium and hugged her dad.

Miley watched as they placed Lilly’s body in her coffin. Just as they were about to close the lid, Miley jumped into the coffin and shielded her friend. “No!” Miley yelled as she threw her arms onto Lilly’s lifeless body. Hugging her harder than ever. “Miley.” Her dad pulled her out of the coffin. Miley hated to leave her friend but she complied and got up out of the coffin. She couldn’t bear to watch Lilly be packed away in a box forever so she ran to a tree and started crying harder.

“Lilly.” She said “I know you can hear me. So listen. I miss you more than anything and I wish you were here with me now. I know you are in Heaven because God would not send you to Hell. I also know that you are an angel and that you have wings. Just know, that you are my best best friend and that I will never forget you. I love you Lilly.” Miley said.

Chapter 4: Agony

Author note: I’ve decided to switch between Oliver, Lilly’s boyfriend and Miley. Shopaholicxoxo I loved your idea and I kinda added onto it. I really hope you don’t mind. Oliver’s POV is in black and Miley’s is in purple. Well, the idea to have Lilly die is mine, but I mean having Oliver freak out was yours.


This is Oliver’s POV after Lilly is put in the coffin and after Miley has spoken:
Oliver walked up to the podium to say a few words about his girlfriend Lilly. Oliver could barely speak, his throat hurt and he felt like he would throw up. I can’t flipping do this! I think I’ll throw up or something. He got up to the podium and he had to hold onto the podium in order to keep his balance.

“Li-lly was…. S-she was the be-st girlfriend ever. I loved her so much. She wuz my evrythng.” He was somewhat drunk. The news of the crash had completely hammered him. Hard. He had drank a lot the night before. He put a hand to his head. He cleared his thoughts. This is LILLY’S funeral. I loved her, I have to concentrate. “Lilly really was my life. And I-I don’t think I’m gonna do so well in the future without her. I miss her so much. I spent almost all my time with her and I loved her more than anything. She was my true love. I’ll never forget her kisses. Her hugs. The way her eyebrows crinkled when she laughed. Her-“ he could not go on. He exploded into sobs and left the podium.


Miley knelt under the Weeping Willow tree sobbing. She saw Oliver coming, she wiped her eyes. She saw that he had been crying too. “Hey Miley” he said, his voice shaking. “Hi Oliver.” She said back. “That was pretty intense huh?” he said indicating the podium. “Yeah. I miss her so much.”

“Where do you think she is right now?” Oliver asked her.

Miley thought for a moment.

“Flying with angels.” She said and they both started crying.


I know it's short, but I'll write at least 3 chapters tomorrow!

Chapter 5: The Burial

How is this happening? Oliver must be dying inside, I’m already dead. Miley thought as she hugged Oliver. Her and Oliver made their way up to the coffin to watch the burial. Miley cried into Oliver’s shoulder, but then Oliver burst into tears and ran away from the coffin. Miley could hardly stand seeing her friend be put in a box and left underground to rot, she ran to where Oliver was. She saw Jake watching as Lilly was lowered into the ground and buried though. She saw Oliver sitting on a rock next to the stream, his head in his hands.

“Ol-Oliver,” Miley said, her voice trembling.

“I didn’t even get to say good-bye.” Oliver choked out.

Miley walked over to where he was sitting and gave her friend a hug.

“I know, neither did I. It…..it happened so fast.” Miley said, “I wasn’t ready for it, neither were you.”

Oliver looked up at her, his face was red, his eyes swollen with tears.

“I wish I could see her one last time. I wish I could kiss her one more time. There are so many things I wanted to do with her that I can’t do now. And I’ll never get to.” He said sorrowfully.

Miley sat down next to him. “I know what it’s like to lose someone very very close to you.”

Oliver’s eyebrows furrowed. Which of Miley’s other friends had died? He wondered.

“Who? One of your friends?” he asked.

“No. My mom.” She answered, “But I’m not sure if she died. I think she ran away, but I never got the chance to really get to know her or hug her. I really wish I could though. If I could say one thing to her, and she would hear it, it would be…. I miss you.”

Chapter 6: Unforgettable

This time Oliver hugged Miley. “I’m sorry about your mom Mile.” He said.

“Don’t be. I never knew her. I don’t even know what she looked like.” Miley said sadly, “I’m sorry about Lilly, Oliver.”

Oliver smiled. “She was your best friend Miley. She was my girlfriend. But she is unforgettable.”

“I know, but I also know how much you miss her.” Miley answered.

Oliver’s eyes welled up again. “I wish it was yesterday. I wish I could just say good-bye! That’s all I want!” he said.

“I know. I wish I could just rewind time and stop her from getting in her parent’s car. If it wasn’t for my concert, she’d be alive right now.” Miley said.

Oliver stood up, his face horrified. “So, you’re the reason why she’s dead! If it wasn’t for you being Hannah Montana my girlfriend would be kissing me right now!” he yelled.

Miley was stricken! “No! Oliver, that’s not why! I-“

“You know what? No! I don’t believe you anymore! Lilly’s dead because of you! I never want to see you again! Leave me alone!” he said, visciously.

He ran away from her, tears falling from his eyes as he ran.

“Oliver! No, come back! Please!” Miley called after him.
She started to run but he was already out of sight.

Great job Miley. Really great. Now Oliver hates you. Why me? Now both my friends are gone!

Miley ran home. She got into her room and started to throw everything within reach of her, screaming the whole time.
“I hate this! I hate me! I hate everyone!” she yelled as she threw her lamp against the wall.

Finally, she got tired and fell asleep in the middle of the floor.

Oliver got to his house and ran inside to his room. I know it’s not Miley’s fault that Lilly’s dead, but why did she have to have a concert yesterday? Lilly would still be alive! “And she’d be with me.” He said aloud. He went over to his desk and stared at a picture of him, Miley and Lilly all together in a photo-booth. He couldn’t look at it any longer, so he turned it over. His body ached and he was so tired all of a sudden. He crawled over to his bed and instantly fell asleep.

Chapter 7: Don’t Forget Me.

Oliver woke up with dried drool on his chin and sweat on his face. He sat up, wiped his face off, and got out of bed. Maybe I should go over to Lilly’s house. He thought. He walked out of his house and rode his scooter over to Lilly’s. When he got there, he found the door to be unlocked so he walked in. “Mr. Truscott?” he called into the empty house. But the house was empty. He walked upstairs and stood in front of Lilly’s door. I can handle this. He thought and he opened the door. Lilly’s room was turquoise and papered with posters of her favorite athletes and celebrities and pictures of her friends. Her bed was in the middle of the room and the sheets were still rumpled from where she had slept two nights earlier. Just then, he saw a small piece of paper sitting on the bed. He walked over and picked it up. His eyes widened. It was a letter from Lilly to him! She must have written it when she was in the hospital. His eyes brimming over with tears, he began to read it.
It said:

Dear Oliver,
If you are reading this, I am in Heaven. I am no longer standing beside you, but I am watching as you read this. Please know, that I love you and that I am not injured or hurt. I am a beautiful, perfect angel. Please don’t cry. I am happy now, and I’m with my Mum again. You may be thinking "It's my fault that she's dead!" but if you are, you're acting stupid because it's not! I am not sad or unhappy in anyway. I hope you are happy for me.
Even though you will never see me again, know that I will always be there watching over you. I will be there for you all through your life. You deserve the best, Ollie. Never change, and never forget me. I know I’ll never forget you, or the love we shared. Please tell Miley that I love her and that I miss her. I miss you two so much. You both were the best friends a girl could want. Don’t forget me Oliver. Remember, I’ll always love you and I’ll watch over you everyday.

Oliver’s face was red and blotchy. His eyes were puffy and he was crying hard. Lilly was in the hospital but she remembered me, and she wanted to make sure that I was ok.

“I love you too Lily.” He said. He put the note in his pocket, took one last look at her room, and left the house.

Chapter 8: Songs from the heart.

“I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear every once in a while
And even though it’s different now,

Miley finished playing her song and wiped her eyes. She knew that Lilly was clapping for her right now and she felt proud.

“Lilly, I hope you liked that. Originally, that song was for my mom, but now I’m singing it for you. I know that you’re listening and I know you have been watching me for the past two days. I miss you but it’s getting easier to deal with your death. I know that’s what you want. Don’t worry though, I’ll always miss you and I’ll always cry whenever I think of what happened. I’ll talk to you later, bye.” Miley said into the sky. She picked up her guitar and walked inside.

Oliver was sleeping in his room, his head on his desk. The letter from Lilly was on his desk next to him. It was wrinkled because he had read it so many times. Suddenly, he heard a knock at the door. He got up and walked downstairs to the door, and looked through the peephole. It was Miley. He unlocked the door and opened it.

“Hi Ollie,” Miley said, “May I come in?”

Oliver nodded and gestured inside.

“Oliver, I’m-“ she began to say

“I’m sorry.” Oliver said.

“You’re sorry?" Miley asked.

“Yeah. I shouldn’t have treated you like that, back at the stream. I overeacted. It’s not your fault she’s dead.” He said.

“Thanks Oliver. I was really sad when you said that you never wanted to see me again. I hated myself because you hated me.” She answered.

“I didn’t hate you, I was just…” he said, “I was just frustrated.”

“Why?” Miley asked him.

“I felt like… like if I could have stopped her from getting in that car, that she’d still be here.” He said.

“Oh Oliver!” Miley said, hugging him, “It’s not your fault! Nobody could have stopped it! That’s life.” Miley told him.

“I know but I hated myself after it happened.” He replied, “I hated myself for losing her.”

“I’m really sorry Oliver. We all are. We all miss her and want her back again. But, she’s not coming back. We just have to deal with it.” Miley said, sadly.

“I know, but it’s hard to do that. I want to move on, but when I try, I just remember all the memories we had together.” He said, as a tear rolled down his cheek.

“I know how you feel. But she’s watching over us right now, and she wouldn’t want you to be sad.” Miley said.

Oliver looked up at the sky, “Yeah.” He said, “I know.”

Chapter 9: Her First Smile

“Hey, Oliver, why don’t you come over to my house for awhile. We can drive Jackson nuts! It’s fun!” Miley said.

“Yeah, ok. That sounds cool. Can I come by at about 2:00?” he asked.

“Sure. I’ll wait for you. See you!” Miley said as she opened the door and walked outside.

“Bye!” Oliver called. He watched her walk down the walkway and closed the door.

Miley walked home. Her dad was waiting for her when she came in the door.

“Hey daddy, what’s up?” Miley asked.

“Lilly’s father just came by. He gave me this” He pulled out a piece of paper.

“What is it?” Miley asked him.

“Lilly told him to give it to you when she died.” Her father said, handing it to her.

“Oh…” Miley said, “Thanks dad.”

Miley walked upstairs to her room, she opened the note. Just as she was about to read it, the doorbell rang. She looked up at her clock, 2:00. It must be Oliver. She ran downstairs and opened the door.

“Hey Miles.” Oliver said.

“Hi Oliver. Please come in.” She said happily.

He walked in and sat down.

“Well hey Oliver,” Robby Ray said “You still feeling glum?”

“Only a little bit Mr. Stewert.” He answered.

“You know what, I’m gonna take you kids to Six Flags.” He said.

“Really?!” they both asked.

“Yep. Let’s go!” he said.

Miley, Oliver, Jackson, and Robby Ray climbed into Jackson’s car and drove to Six Flags. They rode all of the roller coasters and then they went to Goliath.

Miley stood staring at the humongous roller coaster.
“I don’t know guys.” She said worriedly.

“Don’t worry Miley,” Oliver said, “If it makes you feel better, you can sit in between me and your dad.”

Miley looked at him. “Ok.” She said.

They all got in their seats and Miley did sit between Oliver and Robby Ray. She clung to Oliver as they slowly went up to the highest peak. She screamed into his shoulder as they went down, and he hugged her the whole way down. She felt safe with him.

They got off the ride and were all laughing hard. Miley even cracked a smile.

“Hey, it’s your first real smile since…” Oliver said.

“Since what?” Miley said, still smiling.

“Since Lilly’s death.” Oliver answered.

“Really? Wow.” Miley said.

“I’m glad you’re smiling again Miley,” Oliver said, “You’re not the same when you aren’t smiling.”

“I’m glad too Ollie.” She said, and hugged him.

Chapter 10: Happiness and Sorrow.

Oliver and Miley got off the Mind Bender thrill ride and were both laughing.

“That was awesome!” Oliver said.

“I know!” Miley answered, “I still have my hands up in the air!”

They laughed.

Soon, Robby Ray and Jackson found them and they all went home. They dropped Oliver off at his house on the way.

Miley walked Oliver to the door.

“Thanks for taking me Miley. I had fun.” Oliver said.

“Me too.” Miley said back.

“Could I do something really fast?” Oliver asked her.

“Sure. What?” Miley asked.

Oliver just smiled. Then, he took her hands in his, leaned forward, and kissed her. On the lips.
The kiss seemed to last forever. Or maybe it only lasted a few years. After what seemed like many weeks, they broke apart, Miley’s eyes opened wide.

“Oliver, I-“ She started to say.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that.” He said, “I won’t do it again.”

“No,” Miley pulled him towards her, and kissed him again, “I’m glad you did.” She said as they broke apart.

“Do you think Lilly hates us for that?” Oliver asked.

“No. I think she’s proud of you for moving on.” Miley said back.
Her dad honked his horn. “Oh.” Miley said, “I have to go. See you tomorrow?” she asked, hopefully.

“Definitely.” Oliver answered.

She kissed him one last time on the cheek and then ran back to the car.

Oliver walked into his house, his mouth wide open. Then, he jumped up, pumping his arm in the air.
“YES!!!!” He yelled, as he danced around his house.

He ran upstairs to his room and sat down on his bed. His eyes fell upon a picture of Lilly kissing him on the cheek. Suddenly, he felt sickened with himself. What am I doing? He asked himself. Do I really love Miley? I thought I was Lilly’s boyfriend! He felt awful. But Lilly’s dead, and she would have wanted me to be happy and move on. He couldn’t handle it all. He lay down on his bed and cried himself to sleep.

Chapter 11: Lilly’s note to Miley

Miley walked inside her house, she was having very mixed emotions. She felt happy, sad, and she felt as if she had betrayed Lilly. She went into her room and collapsed on her bed. Do I really like Oliver? Her eyes fell upon the note Lilly had written to her. After staring at it for a few minutes, she gathered up the courage to read it.
It read:

Dear Miley,
I never thought I would know true friendship. Before you came to Seaview Middle School, I was the freaky skater chick that everyone thought was weird. Then someone came along, and suddenly, I felt happy. I felt like I was on top of the world because I had someone who would always be there for me. That person was you, Miley. You gave me courage and strength. Because of you, I was brave enough to be different. You were the best friend I ever had. Thank you for that.
If you are reading this, I am no longer with you. Don’t worry though! I am in Heaven! I am an angel and I am watching you as you read this. Please don’t cry, be happy for me. I am not injured or alone, I am with my Mom. I am happy and joyful. I’m watching as you read this. I will never leave you. I will be there for you during your first heartbreak and I will watch with joy on your wedding day. You deserve the best Miley. Never change and never forget me or our friendship. I will never forget you. I love you Miley, and you will always be my best friend.

Miley stood there, sobbing, the letter in her hands. Lilly had been injured and in the hospital but she had made sure that I would be ok. This means so much to me.

Chapter 12: Is This Real?

Miley lay on her bed. Is this real? Do I like Oliver as more than a friend? She thought. “Does Oliver like me as more than a friend?” she thought aloud. Yes, I think I do have feelings for him. Miley thought again.

“Lilly, if you’re watching, which I know you are, please don’t hate me for kissing Oliver. I understand if you do though because technically he is your boyfriend. But, I’m starting to move on! Aren’t you happy for me?” she asked even though she knew there would be no reply, “Well, I proud of Oliver for moving on. I think you are too.” Miley said.

Oliver woke up with even more drool on his chin than before. He got up and ran to Miley’s house. He rang the doorbell. Miley’s face greeted him as she opened the door.

“Hi Miles.” He said happily.

“Hi Oliver.” Miley said. “Oh, come in please.”

He walked inside the house.

“Oliver, we need to talk about what happened earlier.” Miley said.

“I know. I feel happy and sad at the same time.” He answered.

Miley led him upstairs to her secret Hannah closet.
They both sat down next to each other on a couch inside.

Oliver felt weird sitting next to her. Lilly had always sat next to her at school, he had never had the chance. She felt warm, which was one thing he liked about her. He had never really been his close to her. He studied her features. Her eyes were beautiful, big, brown, and glistening. Her hair shined in the light. Her-

“Oliver!” she said, waving a hand in front of his face.

“Oh, sorry Miley.” Oliver said apologetically.

That was weird, Oliver looked like he was checking me out. Miley thought, But I’ll let him this time.

“Ok, so about the kiss….” Miley said,

“I shouldn’t have kissed you Miley.” He said, “It was wrong and now Lilly hates me for it.”

“No Oliver!” she said, hugging him again. “She’s proud of you because you moved on!”

“I feel…. Like I betrayed her.” He said, tearing up again.

“Oliver, don’t cry. Please don’t cry.” Miley said, wiping his face. “I actually don’t think you did anything wrong by kissing me.”

“Really?” Oliver asked, surprised.

“Uh-huh.” Miley answered.

“Why?” Oliver asked.

For an answer, Miley leaned forward and kissed him on the lips.

When they broke apart, Miley said “Because, I was going to kiss you anyway.”

“Ok, well I should head home. Bye!” Oliver said.

Oliver walked to his house. Happy, but sad all at the same time.

He got home and looked through all of his photo albums. Every page he went to, there was a picture of Lilly, Miley, and him together. “There’ll never be another picture like these.” He said.

Chapter 14: Bad News

Miley was standing in her Hannah closet singing along to her song "I Got Nerve" on the radio. Smiling from ear to ear.

Her dad walked in. "Mile, I've got some bad news." he said.

The smile left Miley's face. "What is it?" she asked.

"Oliver's in the hospital." he said sadly.

"What?!" Miley half said, half yelled.

"He jumped out his 3-story window. He broke his ribs, his legs, his nose, and his arm." her dad said, gravely.

"OH MY GOD!" Miley screamed. She ran to her door and ran all the way to the hospital.

Oliver laid on his bed, every part of him ached. I can't believe I'm not dead. Now I'll never see Lilly again. He thought.
All of a sudden the door burst open. "Who's there?" he asked. But for an answer, Miley's face appeared. Her face was wet with tears. She ran to him and kissed him.

"Oh my god Oliver. I was so worried. Are you ok?" she asked, her voice trembling.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Oliver said.

"Well, in that case," she said, she slapped him lightly, "How could you jump out a window? Are you an idiot?"

"I know. I deserve that." Oliver said quietly, "I thought that if I jumped out of my window that I would die. Then, I would see her...." He broke off as tears came to his eyes.

"Oh Ollie." she said, "I'm sorry."

"But instead, I feel like crud and I'll never see her again." Oliver said, "Now there's nobody that loves me."

"I wouldn't be so sure of that" Miley said, and she kissed him gently on the cheek.

Chapter 15: Everythang's gonna be alright bud.

"So, what's gonna happent to you Ollie?" Miley asked.

"I have to have surgery on my nose, but other than that, I'm going to be fine." Oliver told her.

"Great." Miley said, smiling.

Oliver winced as a sharp pain went through his leg. "Ouch." he said quietly.

"What?" Miley asked.

"Nothing, it's my leg. It hurts." He answered.

"I'm sorry." she said, sympathetically.

"Don't be." he said, "It was my mistake."

"Well, I'm gald you feel ok." she said.

"Thanks." he said, and he smiled.

"You really miss her a lot. Don't you?" Miley asked, her voice sounding sad.

"Yeah, I do. But I'm lucky to have you." Oliver said.

Miley felt wonderful. "Thanks Oliver."

She gave him a gentle hug.

"Your welcome" Oliver said.

As she pulled away, he pulled her towards him and kissed her.

Her dad walked in the room, they broke apart.

"Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to interrupt the lovefest." Her father said.

"Oliver has to have surgery daddy." Miley said, worriedly.

"Don't worry." Her father said as he pulled her in for a hug. "Everythang's gonna be alright bud."

"Thanks daddy." Miley said. "Can I stay overnight in the hospital with Ollie?"

"Maybe not overnight...." her dad said.

Miley gave her best puppy dog face. "Please daddy!"

"Oh ok." he said, "But just tonight."

"Yay!" she said, and she huged him.

Oliver felt glad that Miley would be staying with him overnight. Her dad left the room.

Oliver smiled at Miley for a long time.

"What?" she asked him.

"It's just....." Oliver said.

"What?" she asked again.

"It's just, you are so pretty." he told her.

Her face glowed.

"Aww, thanks." she said.

"So...... can I ask you something?" he asked.

"Sure." she said as she sat down on the seat next to him.

"Do you think it's ok for one friend to like another friend?" he asked.

"That depends. But, yeah I do" she said

"Well then, will you be my girlfriend?" he asked.

"Oliver, I don't know what to say." Miley said.

"It'd be nice of you to say yes." he said, smiling.

She laughed. "Yes! I'd love to be your girlfriend Oliver."

Yes! Oliver thought.

"Could you come here for a minute?" he asked her.

She pulled her chair close to his bed.

He pulled her towards him and gave her the best kiss of her life.

"I'm happy you said yes." he said

"Me too." she said back.

He smiled at her again.

"I think Lilly's really proud of you. I know I am." she told him.

"I think so too. I'm glad." he said.

Chapter 17: Healing Well.

Miley lay asleep in the chair next to Oliver's bed. Oliver was asleep as well. The clock striked 10:00 and Miley woke up. She looked at Oliver as he slpet on. He must be tired. Miley thought. She studied his features. I never really looked at him before. He's cute. And he's so nice, and sweet.

A nurse knocked on the door and Oliver woke up. "Come in." Miley said. The nurse walked in.

"Excuse me," she said to Miley, "But it's time for Oliver's surgery. I don't think you want to watch it."

"Oh, no I don't. I'll leave." she said as she stood up and stretched.

"I'll see you later, Ollie." She said and she walked forward and kissed him on the cheek.

"Bye Miles." he said tiredly.

Miley smiled at him and walked out of the room. She called her dad to come pick her up. She went home.

After awhile, her phone rang. She answered it.

"Hello?" she asked.

"Hi Miley." A familiar voice said.

''Hi Oliver!" Miley said, enthusiastically.

"What's up." she asked.

"Nothing, my surgery's over." he said.

"Oh! Good!" She said, "How do you feel?"

"Fine." He said, "The nurse said I'm healing well and that I'll be able to leave tomorrow. I'll have to use crutches though. And my arm will be in a cast but I'll be able to walk around a little."

"Great." she said. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Definately." he said. "Oh, my nurse says I have to go."

"Ok! Bye!" Miley said.

"Bye!" Oliver said.

"Oh, Oliver?" She asked.

"Yes?" Oliver asked.

"I love you." Miley said.

"I love you too." Oliver said.

*click!* Miley hung up.

Chapter 18: Popcorn and tears.

Oliver was at Miley's house watching a movie with her. His crutches were sitting nearby. Miley had made him watch her favorite movie Steel Magnolias with her.

"Don't you love this Oliver?" she asked him.

"Ummm......" He said, No, actually I don't really like it at all. "Yeah! I love it!"

Miley beamed.

"But you know what the best part is?" he asked her.

"Hmm.... No I don't." she said, "Why don't you tell me."

"It's being here with you." he said.

"Aww, you're so sweet!" she said, as she gave him a kiss on the cheek.

He heard the popcorn popping in the microwave. Then it beeped.

"Oh!" Miley said, jumping up, "The popcorn's ready."

"I'll go get it." Oliver said, reaching for his crutches.

"No, it's fine. I can get it myself." she said.

He shrugged. "Ok."

She walked over and opened the microwave door. Oliver went back to watching the movie.

Suddenly, he heard a gasping noise. He looked around for the source and jumped up off the couch and ran over to Miley. She was sprawled across the floor, the popcorn bowl in her hands, her eys staring blankly into the air.

"M-Miley?" Oliver asked, faintly. Tears came to his eyes.

He ran over to the phone and dialed 911 as fast as he could. Oh my god, please don't let her die. Please!

Chpater 19: Not Looking Bright

Miley was laying in a large room on a comfortable mattress. She felt dizzy and confused. What Happened? Where's Oliver? She thought. She turned her head and saw her dad sitting next to her in a chair. He saw her and he smiled. "Oh good! You're awake! I was so worried darlin'!" he said.

"What happened?" she tried to say but she couldn't make the words come out of her mouth. She was too weak.

"You collapsed while you were coming back with the popcorn. Oliver called an ambulance and they rushed you here to the hospital." He told her.

"Oliver" she mouthed.

"He's asleep in a chair outside in the waiting room." Robby Ray said, "He's very tired."

"Can I see him?" Miley said very faintly. Her voice was raspy.

Her father nodded. He stood up and went to get Oliver.

Oliver walked in and sat next to her.

"Hi." she mouthed, smiling.

"Hey Miles." he said.

"Oliver," she said, very quietly, with as much strength as she could muster, "If I don't live through this, just know that I'll love you no matter what."

Oliver smiled as a tear rolled down his cheek. "I know."

And with her last ounce of strength, she leaned forward and kissed him on the lips.

They broke apart, and Miley put her head to her pillow and closed her eyes.

Oliver awoke to see Miley with her eyes still closed and her chest no longer moving up and down. Tears sprang to his eyes. She's not dead. She's just sleeping. He thought. Then the nurse entered the room. "Oh no." She said. "What? What's the matter?" Oliver asked.

"Oh, goodness." She said. "I'm sorry, young man, but this young lady is dead."

Oliver's eyes spilled over with tears. He lept from his seat ans threw his arms around Miley, sobbing into her hair.

"No!" he yelled.

"Young man, please don't shout, there are patients that you'll wake up!" she said.

He didn't care, he ran out of the room and all the way back to his house. When he got there, he ran into his kitchen and searched around for what he needed. When he found a long, sharp kitchen knife, he held it in his hands and thought for a moment about what he was about to do.

Nobody loves me anymore. Lilly's gone and now Miley too! I can't stand this.

And with that, he plunged the knife into his heart.

Oliver's dead, Miley's dead! No! This can't be happening!

"No....no.....NO!" Someone was screaming, writhing around on their mattress. "No! This isn't real!!" The person shouted.

Miley was sitting next to the person in a chair. She woke up with a start.

"Lilly? Lilly!" Miley screamed with joy. She got up and shook Lilly out of the nightmare she was having.

Lilly stopped screaming, her eyes closed.

Miley's smile left her face. "Lilly?" Miley asked.

Suddenly, Lilly's eyes opened, her face was wet from sweating.

"M-Miley?" she asked faintly.

"Yes! I'm here Lilly!" Miley told her friend.

"What's going on? Where's Oliver?" She asked. Her voice sounding scared.

"Oliver's fine, he's out in the waiting room." Miley's eyes welled up with tears of happiness. She flung her arms around her friend.

"Why are you so happy,Mile?" Lilly asked her, as she sat up on her pillow.

"Oh, Lilly!" she said, "You're alive! We all thought you were dead but you're alive! You were in a coma and we weren't sure if you were going to live but you're not dead!"

"But....." Lilly said, her voice filled with confusion, "But I was dead, and you and Oliver were at my funeral. But then you two became a couple and you kissed. Then, you died, and Oliver killed himself and then....." Realization hit her.

"It was all a dream." She said aloud, "A nightmare. You're not dead, Oliver's not dead...."

"Lilly, what are you talking about?" Miley asked, awestruck.

"I had a dream. You and Oliver died and I was dead...... but then, I woke up. It was all a dream!" She said happily.

There was a knock on the door. "Come in!" Miley said.

Oliver walked in with his head hanging sadly.

"OLIVER!!!" Lilly shouted.

He jumped from surprise.

"Lilly?" he asked, not believing what he saw. "You're alive? But.... you were in a coma."

"I just woke up." Lilly said. "I was having an awful nightmare that you were a couple, and I was dead.... And then you both died."

"What?!" Oliver asked, as he sat down beside Miley.

Lilly told them about her nightmare. How she had died in a car crash, how Miley and Oliver became an item, how Oliver fell from his 3-story window, and how Miley had died. Then she was in tears when she told of how Oliver had stabbed himself.

Oliver sprang forward and hugged her. "Lilly! Please don't cry! I'm not dead, I'm right here. I still love you and I'm still you're boyfriend." He kissed her gently on the lips.

"I know, but it was so real...... I was so scared." Lilly said.

"Well, we're not dead." Miley said as she hugged Lilly too, "You're not getting rid of us that easily!"

And the three friends laughed and spent the rest of the day talking and being glad that Lilly was still with them.

I'm so lucky to have Miley & Oliver as friends. And we'll always be friends. Always.
