Alright, a lot of people have been asking me about how I make my text "3D".
It's actually very simply, so here is a short tutorial on this effect :D.
Step 1:
Start out with your icon, banner, wallpaper, whatever you like.
Make it all pretty and then when its time to add text, pick a color that you like (I suggest a black or white or using the dropper to pick a color from the picture).

Step 2:
Now if you know what color you want to be in the back of the text, use your dropper and get it and then copy the number of the color.
(I repeat, black and white usually works well in the background depending on your picture.)
Right click on the text layer on the Layer Menu.
Go to Blending Options.

Step 3:
Now from Blending Options go to Drop Shadow.
Change the color you want (or paste the number).
It automatically is set to Black, Multiply, 75% Opacity.
Change it to Normal and bring the Opacity to 100%.

Your graphic should now look like this:

Step 4:
Change the size the 0, and it should start to look more 3Dish.
Change the Distance if you like (mines at 3)
Keep the Spread at 0.
You can change the Angle as well until you like it.
Mines at 180 degrees ;).

Now your banner should look like this:
