Fan Art Galleries FAQ

What is a gallery?
A gallery is a personalised thread for members to post all their fan art in. There a user can post their graphic updates, people can comment on them, and if the user wishes to, can also take requests.

Why galleries?
The galleries are good option to use to organise the fanart section. Members can also keep track of all their updates, and do not have to worry about closing threads when wishing to start a new request thread.

Can anyone start a gallery and where?
Anyone can start a gallery, and we encourage everyone to show off their work! Just start a thread in this forum!

How do I organise my gallery?
[x] It is best to put your name or username with 'Gallery' in the title. eg. Dreem/preci0us_dream's Gallery
[x] All your graphics should be posted in your gallery. No separate galleries for wallpapers, banners and icons.
[x] If you would like to take requests for other users, announce it on your first post.
[x] If you feel that your thread has gotten to large, feel free to create another. Please call it Name Gallery 2/II
Please don't start a new gallery after only a short period of time. One gallery should have a decent amount of posts
and should have lasted for at least several months. If you stop making fan art for a while it is absolutely fine for you
to start fresh with another ;)
[x] If you choose to start a new gallery, you can have a mod close your previous gallery, however this is not necessary

Any rules?
[x] Gallery owners can make up all their rules. They can refuse requests upon their liking. Nevertheless, all forum rules
are applicable.
[x] If you have a large graphic, for example a wallpaper, try to post linkware, rather than hotlinking, which will slow
the uploading and stretching of the page.
[x] Be considerate of others! Do not spam, and bash users' work. Be a good person and comment :)

Example Gallery-

A nice pretty header which says 'Welcome to _______'s Gallery!'
Rules-
I only make banners and icons
Request status open/closed
Taking ____ number of requests at one time

Are we allowed to have a mini chat session with the requester about their request and specifications in the gallery? Or would it be spamming?

Yes that is totally fine. Anything related to graphics are okay ;) Just don't want to see pages of random chat.

You can have requests but updates, freebies etc MUST all go in there. No random threads. Obviously you don't have to do updates and all that.

Before you report someone next time, I suggest you see who you are reporting. I suggest you change your attitude now before it causes you further trouble.

If you read this (http://www.mymostwanted.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29287) thread you would understand that we are not getting rid of requests. Just start another thread called Hermione Montana's Gallery in the Galleries section. Happy?

Oh it won't be deleted if you don't want to ;) Some people just prefer it to be deleted.

Please, don't close miley miles and my thread! I have worked so hard on it and it will take forever to convert all of my blends to a new gallery! I worked sooo hard on those! I don't know how to start a new thread. Please, I beg you, don't close our thread!

It will happen. Just start a new one, is it that hard? You don't need to move all you blends over. I understand that it you worked hard on it, that's why we are not deleting them. Only closing them so they won't be bumped.

Yes we can, but this is a new idea and we want everyone's threads to be new and fresh.

It is pretty well the same as requests threads. Just get the URL of the image and put it in between and . :D

Can a moderator close my old gallery. I have a new style so I want to make a new gallery with a few different styles so people are not confused. My gallery is called: ~Tatina's Gallery~ . I am making a new one so don't close the one called Tatina's Gallery 2.o. PLease and thank you!

yea, if they dont use it u tell them to or not to request cos their wasting your time

I would make a rule in my gallery saying...

"If you dont like something, I will re-do it. But not more than 5 (or however many times)"

Thats what I would do. They would just have to take it or leave it!

Well, you have your own style. If they are requesting from you then thats the
graphic they get back. If they ask for a new one, just because they don't like
they way you make it, then they really shouldn't be requesting from you.;) You
shouldn't have to change your style just for them.;)

My dad said he has one. I think for a few years. Im too scared to find it, its kind of weird. i dont know what I will see.
its probably empty...but i dont want to risk seeing something weird! or find out he has pictures of us on there
