You've heard my story. Tiff moved, M.J. is going emo, etc. Well she told me about a thing her family has that goes into trying to kill yourself. And she said (M.J.) that she's probably about to start cutting! I've tried to let her know I'm here and all but she just is so upset about Tiff that she can't get over it. She talks about her all the time and when she told me about her family problem, the suicide streak, she said it lasts for 4 FLIPPING YEARS! That is 4 YEARS that she could die!!! Help me!! I don't want her to die, cut, or go onto this suicide streak. I love her like a sis and it would kill me inside if she died! Please, please, please help me!

~Thanks. :'(

Well suicide streaks arent neccessarily genetic... i mean growing up around people like that can cause your brain to think in this way... but she could also prevent it. As i said to your last post... do AS MUCH with her as you can... to get her mind off of it. take her to the mall, the movies, have her over for "girl nights"... just ANYTHING to get her mind off everything else. and keep a close on her her... ANY sign of cutting what so ever... ya gotta tell someone. you might think it sounds like a "nerdy" thing to do... to tell a teacher or guidance counsler or whatever...but in all honesty, you are saving her life.

~Hope it helps!

Yeah i agree you need to keep a close watch over her without being overly intrusive or overstepping your boundaries. The important thing again is to distract her and refocus her attention on something else besides self mutilation and suicide. I know you cant be watching her 24/7 but just try your best and hope or pray for the rest

You need to tell an adult or parent - someone you can trust.

She's obviously going through a difficult time right now. Unfourtunately, there is nothing much you can do besides being a good friend.

Invite her over for a fun day, or a sleepover. Talk to her about her problem, ask how she feels.

Suggest to her to go see a phychologist or consellor.

I hope all good will sort out.
