Between dance, religious school, regular school, and trying to hang out with friends, there is just so much to do! I get about 3 hours of homework every day, even though we aren't supposed to have any more than 2, but a lot of people in my grade get 3 hours instead of 2. I never have more than about 1 hour a day to do whatever I want. I only get about 6 or 7 hours of sleep every night because I am working so hard. Are the good grades and achievement really worth it? How can I balance my life out a little better?

Well as a student i can tell you that the good grades are worth it! If you have A's and B's you have a better chance of doing what you want to do with your life rather than working at a fast food resturant! In order to balance your life you need to drop some things. Talk to your parents and decide what you want to do....maybe only taking dance in the summer or vacations or just do it less. Maybe you can drop religious school and concentrate more on the regular school! One thing you can do is be better organized. Maybe do some homework in your spare time at school instead of waiting until you get home! have a planner or something instead of writing on your hand and whatnot....if you have take showers in the morning, maybe take them at night that way you can do more things in the morning!

Having a good balance in life is important. I try to do part of my homework at school the day I get it in the library or something.

This may sound really nerdy but grab a few of your friends share answers and then you don't have to do it after school.

I don't get a lot of homework now, but at my old school we did. It's hard to balance out everything. I like to think that once all of my homework is done, I get the rest to do. Though, by what you say. It sounds like once you get all your homework done, it's bedtime.

Maybe you're putting in too much effort - I know it's good to put a lot of effort in but sometimes you just got to settle for second best because you don't have all the time in the world.

That what my mum used too tell me. I'm a bit obssessed with everything being perfect.

I'm not trying to influence you to do less work, but look at what you are doing and judge whether you could have done it a little quicker.

Good grades are important though, you can still acheive good grades without as much effort. Maybe you could think of something original that would take less time.

My last project I did got A+ because the teacher said it was good how I handwrote it all. I didn't write as much as other people I just put my information in a better format.

Or even getting a few friends around and doing it together can be a lot quicker and be fun at the same time - just as long as you don't get sidetracked lol!

I hope you find a balance between school and everyday life - Tasha :)

Yes! Good grades are worth it, you want to work hard on school so you can get into a good collage, but if you have started of thinking about working less on school work, for everything else, then maybe it's time to give something up. Choose your least favorite after school activty and cut down time on it, like for dance, maybe instead of taking idk 5 classes take 4 or 3. Then you wil have more time.
