hey guys, I'm doing a school project...are uniforms good or bad? i am PRO uniform for many reasons....such as equalization, non-fighting purposes, and such. i am yes and no. yes because you can't make fun of someone for wearing something different and no because it takes away unique-ness.

I say Yes. People thinks it takes away your unique style and whatever but you can do something with your hair or wear hats! Or fun socks!

And so, people don't make fun of you or compare labels and such.

Maybe.Because schools have switched to uniforms the students get better grades because they are not wrried about they are wearing because everyone is wearing the same thing.

I say they are bad because people should be able to show their style and sometimes clothing expresses people and their personality. I think there should be a dress code though so people aren't going to school with shorts that basically only cover their butt or shirts that have girls' stomaches hanging out and our school has it no spagetti strapped tank tops. i mean it's school so yeah that's what our school's dress code is..not many girls follow the like shorts and skirt one though cuz it's supposed to be where your finger tips touch the end of it..but yeah.

What i son't get is my school has a uniform AND a dress code! How is that possible? Technically the uniform is the dress code!

There should be no uniforms because everyone looks like clones. Its soo boring! Yes it is school but can't you jazz school up a bit? A dress code like no tank tops, no belly shirts, pants and or skirts must be at least up to your knee is an ok dress code. If we have uniforms, we win't be able to express our indivisuality and uniqueness. Most of your personality is based on what you are wearing. I'm not trying to sound like a fashion godess but it is good for us to express our indivisuality, uniquness(sorry spelling!), style, and our personalities.

It makes it easy to get dressed for school.
Theres no inoropiate dressing with them.
You don't spend alot of money of em

i'm impartial to either side.. as my school doesnt have a uniform (dress code: no spagetti straps, skirts can only be as short as 5 inches above the knee, no cutoff shorts, no strapless, no heels or flip flops) , they believe that we should be able to express our selves any way we like, as long as its appropriate, i think that uniforms are a good thing because they eliminate people being able to show material wealth and competition of who has better style...but i also agreee with my school that you should be able to express your self... and at my school, while most people are "in style", every one cares HIGHLY about grades, and dosent focus on fashion as much

And with a uniform you don't have to g oshoping much! and you don't have as many cloths and such! Like I ONLY wear my band t-shirts. I know, Lame. I have elt'se see...Ben Kweller, Ben Lee, Death cab for cutie, The Decemberists, Imogen Heap, The flaming lips...
So I only really need to wear those. And we have dress-dwon-days. Where we can dress outta unifrom and so I wear those. =D

over here all schools wear uniforms until you enter college. UM, if my uniform were ugly or something i would hate it but it's one of the coolest uniforms around. who says uniforms can't be cool?

you don't have to compare labels, people wouldn't be feeling stupid because they can't afford new clothes. anyway there isn't anythign wrong with uniforms and not being able to dress up? just wear whatever you want when you go out with your friends.

Well what i hate about uniforms is my hamper is always full! I never get to wear my fab outfits that are asking to be worn! lol. And plus, since now most schools have uniforms, its hard to buy uniforms now! Cuz everyone is buying the same thing, so things come out of stock quickly! Uniforms are more expensive than regulaur clothes anyway

Uniforms get REALLY annoying...itchy and expensive (compared to what I buy).
