well, im what you might say "bigger" than all of my friends. im not like GINORMASLY huge or anything im just not as skinney as all of my friends. latley i've been thinking about going anorexic or im just not going to eat hardly anything. we just did a unit on eating disorders in my health class so i know what all would happen to me. im afraid of going anorexic but im ready to if i have to...can someone help me???
You never HAVE to go anorexic. And let me tell you, its sooo not worth it. More things happen to you then you learn about in health class... they teach you about the physical, and some of the emotional, but there are more emotional depression things that go along with anorexia then you could ever imagine. And if you go anorexic you may never beable to eat normally again EVER. keep in mind that a decision you make over the next week could effect you for the rest of your life. And hardly eating anything is only slightly better then being anorexic... because your body still doesn get all of the nutriants it needs from the food. And eating a light breakfast and a small dinner, which is what a lot of ppl do, they eat when they have to cuz of parents, actually counteracts itself... because when you skip lunch your metabolism slows down, and then it doesnt process your dinner as quiickly as it could. its sooo not worth it. do yourself a favor, and your family a favor, and dont go anorexic. and just cuz your friends are skinny doesnt mean you need to be. dont compare yourself to others... you are how you are, and sooner or later you have to accept that... i've had problems with the SAME thing... but you have to be who you are and love who you are... and STOP comparing yourself to your friends!

dont..i was almost dead at a point..i wouldnt eat cuz of my modeling carrer..i was in the hospital and i could have died..its tourcher and its a disease ..menttaly..i thought i was fat and i really wasnt i still am gaing weight..dont ..eat and exersise!

thanks for the advice...but what am i supposed to do with my "weight problem??" i want to lose weight in the worst way. i want to lose it fast too. i don't wear Aropostel or Ambercrombie and Fitch or any of that stuff cause i don't fit into any of it. i want to be able to fit into nice clothing and when my friends say that they are only 95-100 pounds, i want to be able to say the same thing instead of pretending that i didn't hear them. i've been trying to cut down on what i eat but my mom is starting to get courious when i ask her if i can only eat a pudding cup or a small bag of grapes for lunch. im trying to stop eating the same amount of what i eat and only eat small portions of what i regularly eat. i get that im shouldn't go anorexic but what should i do about the weight loss????? i want to lose lots of weight in a short period of time!!!!!

Loosing weight in a short period of time is very unhealthy. It's not safe, and can lead to many other problems as Jess said before. Trust me, I am the exact same way and you're just going to have to force yourself to eat. But if you really feel like you need to loose weight try and eat unfatty foods such as fruit or home cooked veggies. That would help alot. And to make you feel better you could always go on a quick jog every day with a friend, or alone with music. Trust me, that will calm your nerve at least a little.

well losing lots of weight fast isnt healthy, so there isnt a healthy way to do it. so you just gotta be patient. eating small amounts of things helps, and excercise. also excercisng makes you happy. but you dont have to lose a lot of weight fast, and you dont have to weigh the same as your friends. everyone is different. and as i said earlier, you gotta accept, and start to love who you are. because if you dont then you are gunna run into A LOT of problems down the road. stop comparing yourself to your friends... everyones body is different, and therefore shouldnt be compared to others. you are who you are, you gotta love that... because if you dont no one else will... thats the honest truth... you gotta love yourself before you can expect anyone else to.

haha thanx, but its really true... if you dont love yourself how can you expect other people to love you? and you just gotta love who you are... and be happy with who you are. you are how you are for a reason.

There is no point in getting skinny and losing all that weight if in the end you just collaspe and die on the floor. Its a shocking reality. You may not think that such things will happen to you but from a medical point of view it does happen and i have haerd of such occurences. Even if it doesnt get that bad losing a large percentage of your body weight in a short period of time will have adverse effects on your person so while i do agree taht losing weight is a healthy thing to do, it must be done in moderation and the proper and safe steps must be taken in order to lose weight. some steps would be to exercise and cut down on certain foods like sweet foods and carbohydrates but not to the point where you arent getting enough for your body.

yea just eat healthy and exersise...alot i have been dancing all my life..and other activities..it helps..alot..im a model so i have to be in shape..and im sorry that u dont fit into abercrombie..or nething..listen u will be able to if u just eat healthy and exersise..yea dance is good to do to get exersise..and swimming..yea and even tho im a small in abercrombie..the clothes r really small..its kinda stupid..but thats wuts int heese days i gess..just eat the right food cut down and eversice.and it weill make a difference

well, today i tried to go anorexic but it didn't work. i ate my breakfast au usual but then at lunch at school i only ate half my sandwhich. i figured i wouldn't eat a very big supper either. well...i got home and i was so hungry that i felt like i was going to get sick, so i started to eat. i just can't go anorexic. i wouldn't be able to not eat food lol( ;) ). at lunch i couldn't stop thinking about what ya'll kept saying, that what i learned in health isn't all that happens to you. thanks a lot for all of your encouragment to make me not go anorexic. it really helped!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

yay! you listened to us! It's soo not worth it! I'm always hungry...and I have to buy really really small sized clothes now..sometimes I can't buy the normal clothes everyone else wears because they are waaayyy to big. I'm trying to get back to normal but..I just can't!

ok if ur around like 10 to 15 years old... its NORMAL for you to think your getting bigger and are bigger than your friends...but really your not you getting curves and as u get old ur waist gets smaller but NEVER NEVER NEVER go anorexic....you can die and personally i thuink it would be just plain stupid to risk your life so you can be skinny....and when ppl go anorexic or belimic...it makes them skinnier, yes, but it look DISGUSTING. its gross how skinny you look bcuz once u go anorexic you can NEVEr stop because it becomes a routine its like being addicted to drugs. i know frum personal experience my friend..lets call her alex.( not her real name) she used to show off inclass that she could fit her hands around her waist ... but then geuss what happened to "alex", she had to get hospitalized because she almost DIED. just whatever you do DO NOT do ANYTHING harmful to ur body to be skinny....just excersize and eat healthy you will regret if u go anorexic trust me.

You don't really go anorexic, you kinda get it because you think your big and you starve yourself. By the sounds of it, I sorta sounds like you have it already, but you aren't starving yourself. You might not really be fat, you might be very very skinny and when you look in the mirror it looks like that cause your brain is telling you that. Just think that everyone is perfect in their own way and you don't have to be super skinny because that is also bad, but you don't want to be very overweight.

yeah, my sister's friend went bolemic..and right now she's losing her hair, and she does track and shes really good, but because of her bolomeia..shes not doing good anymore, so just try to eat healthy and excercise..dont go bolemic orrrrrr anerexic though.

just eat healthier like fruits and weggies, get all nutritional, vitamins and minerals, and exersize. If you eat healthy and exersize you'll be fine. And by the way never and I mean never try those product things! They put bad chemicals in it to make it healthier, which are really bad chemicals! So never do those eating rpograms. And plus my brothers on a diet, which he like eats less carories and it says he'll burn fat off, which he is, I think the website is:

just remember that its not what you eat, its about how MUCH you eat. Just eat enough so that you are satisfied, but not full meaning you can eat a little more, but you don't have to because you ate enough. Then balance it out with mabe 30 minutes of exercizing every day.

ok you REALLY need to do this the right way becasue this isn't helping your body at all! And I know you think that going anerexia is the fast way but it's not the right way! A diet is the best way to loose weight and if you really want to loose weight and be proud of yourself then you have to be dedicated and when you loose weight then you won't feel guilty but you feel proudand this only happens when you go on a diet not not eating!!! please rember that!!!!. I'm in seventh grade so at the end of sixth grade my friend was telling me how skinny i was and how my bone in my back pops out when i bend ever and she would keep sayng she wanted to be skinny like her friends and she's not fat! So one day she moved which was actually this summer and she e-mailed me saying that she's getting a therapist for help and stuff and she's like "Anna, I'm kind of going anerexia" and it made me cry because she's going through a lot and she doesn't deserve it. My point is that this makes ur loved ones sad,worryed, and sometimes frustrated because it's sooo hard to tell her the right thing to do because i can't change her mind! But you know everything happens for a reason and by that I mean that ur going through this for a reason in the future but if you continue this, it won't be a good future. I am about to make a prayer chain thread so post ur prob and i wil pray for you! I really truly hope u do this because Anerexia is a teribble thing to go through infact I just watched this on docter phill.

The sport that works the most to help you lose weight is track. I lost 20 pounds in one season. But you can't totally cut out food and not eat it. Otherwise you gain weight since your body is trying to get all the nutritional values that it needs. So then everything that you take in basically becomes extra fat. So if you starve yourself then decide to start eating again, you'll most likely be heavier than you were to start with :15: So just eat healthy food and don't eat all of that junky stuff like ice cream and diet stuff because its not good for you. Trust me, I've seen all of my friends join track the 2 years that we were already in middle school and they lost weight the healthy way:). Plus it gives you more energy and you feel sooo much better.

Being skinny is not as important as being healthy, remember that.
When you skip meals, your body will respond strangly. For example, once I didnt eat breakfast and fainted later that day. Also, I didnt have enough time to eat a proper dinner the other night, and had spasms while trying to sleep.
If you want to lose weight, dont eat fatty, sugar filled foods (especially soda, this is addicting and when trying to break the habit, you will feel icky because you wont have the caffine). Also, start exercising and join a sports team.
A quick tip: By drinking water, calories are burned when digesting it ;)
DONT become anorexic, its not worth it unless you want to be skinny on your death bed
Remember, dont feel bad because you dont look like your friends, you are built differently. You are what you are, nothing more, nothing less. So love yourself.

You don't have to do anything. And just because you feel that you are a little bigger then everyone else dosn't mean you have to become anerexic. You could just maybe loose some weight and then you will be happy.

You don't have to go anorexic!! My friend did and she was in a hospital for a week! Exercise and eat healthy. There are a lot of over weight people who made it big. Jennifer Hudson, Kaylee (I forget her last name, the one from HSM), Nikki Blonksy, and so much more. Just be happy with who you are. Everyone is made differently. In the words of Hannah Montana, nobody's perfect. People come in many different shapes and sizes. You're friends are built differently than you, that's okay!! Just think you're beautiful and be happy with who you are. And remember the words of many before me, everyone is beautiful no matter what they or others may say.

OK, a few years ago, I had this really bad accident that I will NOT tell anyone about. I was so skinny I was annorexic-skinny, but I wasn't annorexic. I still ate and all, and I didn't go through all the emotional stuff. I forgot how to eat. I had to re-learned, and I went for 75 pounds to 58. That was a while ago, and that's not my weight now, though. I am fine now. The advice columnist in the first post has good advice. If you want to go on a diet, don't. Just don't eat a lot of junk food. Like, if you want to have a snack, eat baby carrots or cucumber slices with ranch, or something. Don't eat a lot of junk food, and stick to more healthier food. talk to your parents and see if they'll help you. that's the best advice.

Don't go anorexic. I've been down that path. You may want to loose weight to fit into cute clothes or to prove to your friends, but is getting hospitalized worth that? My mom is plus sized and she has awesome clothes. I luve them. They're alot of stores that only have bigger stuff. So maybe eat heathier like carrots, and stuff during the day and then at night give yourself a treat like a brownie and then to about 20 sit ups before bed. Just don't go anorexic. Don't strive yourself to fit different clothes. I mean, no offense but it's kida stupid to do that. I mean, your not stupid but to go anorexic because you want to fit into clothes, its pure stupidity. So just be yourself and maybe loose 10-15 lbs and it'll be cool.

Anorexia is never the answer. I tried it once and it felt horrible. I tried to loose weight because im in your same situation. Im a big bigger than all of my friends so i tried a diet and exercising alot more. I realized you only need to exercise if its really needed. If you over do it you'll feel icky and really tired all the time. So then i became a vegetarian. I lost weight but i was still healthy. But i was crabby from no protein. So i decided living my life like it was lint (the 40 days before easter) I ate vegetarian like for 6 days a weak on ate meat on sundays. it balenced my diet at im not crabby but im getting thinner. i hope my sugestion helps.

Yeah, I know how you feel. When I go to school, most of my friends are either heavier than me, or skinnier than me. One day, I came to school in abercrombie slim pants, and I thought my thighs were huge, but obviously to everyone else they were like sticks. I guess it's just the way you look at yourself. If you never point out the positive of your body, you'll always feel like crap and like you're heavy. Many people are very self-concious and think that if they aren't as skinny as a stick, it's the end of the world. It's just the way you are, and you'll most likely slim out soon. That's my mother always tells me.

Great Advice. Here is MY opinion. I really don't think you are as overweight as you think you are. Most people think they are really overweight but all they would need to do to lose some weight is eat RIGHT and exercise. You don't need to starve yourself...just eat healthy and don't eat whenever you are hungry. Eat your 3 meals and 1 or 2 small healthy snacks. If you want to lose weight SAFELY try those tips. Trust me, you don't want to become anorexic.

dont go anerexic. it depresses you. makes you weak. and once you go anerexic you cant stop and its really addicting. its a diease. so just work out run,do weights, stretches and eat healthy burn off the caleries once you eat. please dont go anerexiccc

yea i usted to skip lunch everyday at school and it was really bad. i would be hungry in like 7th hour! it was horrible . and my friends were really concerned about me that i was anorexic.
even tho i Wasnt. i would NEVER go anorexic its horrible..
trust me i dont like bein skinny. im actually tryin to gain weight cause i weigh 69 pounds and im 13!!! seriouslly. does ANYONE know of a healthy way to gain weight...ive been tryin ..i tryed eatin a ton but it didnt work!

yea i eat all meals every day now! and i feel a lot better!!! and i noticed that when i eat lunch i have more energy in gym!!! i absolutlly love gym and ive always been great at gym but i can run faster and play everything better when i Eat!! and i like eating! especially Sweets like candy and chocolate! lol

Eat and stay healthy. Don't go through that. I used to think I was bigger but its all changing now that I'm growing. I can fit into smaller clothes. If people make fun of you because your bigger, they're really insecure.
Give your body time. Eat healthy foods and maybe play a sport. You'll even out.

About losing weight.... always watch what you eat.
Like... breads, fast food. I don't know, everone's body is different.
Just think about what your weakness is.
Is it too much pastries? too much meat? too much dairy?
Different foods can effect your body in a different way.
Whatever you eat make sure that you don't take large portions of it.
Because if you eat big meals, your stomach will get used to that amount of food and always want that same amount and sometimes more.
Try to work out at the gym. Cardio helps you lose weight and fast.
Try walking and jogging around your neighborhood or park.
You burn lots of calories by that.
The thing that I hate about advertisements is they always show skinny girls
and put that mindset into young women's minds to be that skinny when really you don't.
I agree to an extent that there is a certain point when you do need to cut back and try to lose some weight, but not to a model's size!!
but anyway, try and see if you can get a membership to a fitness center and discipline yourself to working out.
The same thing is with what you eat. It's disciplining yourself to eating the right kind of foods.
but don't ever go anorexic. I tried doing that and all I did was feel weak, depressed, lazy, and hungry.
Just be careful with what you eat and always excercise.

Oh, and during the summer, the reason while everyone gets bigger, not just taller, is because we sometimes get bored and just go to the kitchen to eat something, even if we just ate...like...20 minutes ago or because our taste-buds are craving something.
So, whenever you want to snack, make sure it's something light.
Like, fruit, vegetables, juice, or water.

im 158 now. i hate myself. HATE. but you see the thing is, i used to be 180 lbs. and i lost that the healthy way... now i cant lose any. im only 5'1 or 5'2, idk. now i just want to lose more. more more more. i hate myself. i think i might be anorexic now... whenever i eat something i want to throw it up but cant bring myself to it. im not going to let myself eat tommorrow. i dont think you stick thin girls understand it. i cant wear hollister, or abercrombie, or anything cute. im not athletic either. when we have to run the mile in gym class it takes me 15 minutes!
im going to stop whining now- just let me say its hurts when youre fat and all you want is to be skinny.

Great advice, I'm thin, and I worry about that I'm a little too thin but my mom says I'm not, that's when anorexic people eat nothing AT ALL. At least I eat, and I got over it. I was scared I was getting too thin till I heard what my mom said and what you said in this.

i was anorexic for amost a year.
it seriesly sucked. i had to go to therapay
and like these rehab sessions.
and like your food is like your worst enemy.
and trying to eat anything mad me emotional and sick!.
i was terrified of being fat, and i still am.
i hate gainning weight. if you knew me you would know how obbsesive i am.
it is so very mental and it takes a physical toll on your body. you have no energy.
and every now and again i would want to eat and i would go crazy and eat a ton and try to throw up. and then start crying my eyes out. and i was also obsessed with exersizing. like every morning i would do 2oo cruntches or sit ups and thenn about 150 jumping jacks. and then i would go to cheer pratice for 2 and a hallf hours. and then go home and run with my dog. and i like never ate. the most i would eat in a day was like and apple or some grapes if anything at all. i would go 4 days with out anything but a protien shake. idk why i was so obbsesive about my weight in 6th grade but i was. and like no lie i was destroying my body and i hated eating. and sometimes i still do. but i force myself to eat sometimes b/c i am terrified to go back to that point in my life. but i am still afriad to get fat.
hun please dont go anorexic, it is hell. serieslly hell. it destroys your life and relationships. that was like the worst point in my lifee. please loose weight in a healthy way not on some crash diet.

great advice. i sometimes think I am overweight too. But its better to stay healthy just excersize eat more fruits and vegetables and less junks. Abercrombie and fitch, HCO, etc, teh mostly provide like XS. But it doesn't mean ur fat if u can;t fit it. Don;t go anorexic

I think everyone has a story about weight they can tell, mines personal and I'd rather not get into my insecurities at the moment but keep this in mind... you may not like the way you look sometimes, but there are a ton of people (believe it or not) dying to be you. Weight only plays a role when you're with girls, guys actually like their girlfriends to have meat on them. Whereas girls can be viscious.

Anorexia.... I have never had this problem, but it is easy to relate to. One time or another, we all think about our weight, even if we are just 100lbs at thirteen. It always seems like the grass is greener on the other side, and I suppose that is why you are pondering on going anorexic. Forgive me if I say this, to anyone that does it, but anorexia is just like smoking. It eats you away from the inside and has literally NO pro's. It can KILL you. In this modern day world, young girls are pressured to keep up with the image that celebrities give. You are pressured to keep up with skinny little girls soaking up the spotlight.
Another thing, once you go anorexic, you do NOT become more beautiful. It takes away light from you face, and bounciness, and happiness. It makes you look dreadfully older and creates bags under your eyes. You are left with nothing but skin and bones. And one of the worst parts is, once you start, you can't stop. You won't be able to shrink down to the size you want, and just stop. That's why they call it a DISORDER. People need professional help to get out of it. And when they do get back to normal weight, after months and months and months of help, they will never look the same again.
We need food. We need food. I'll repeat it one more time so it is clear. WE NEED FOOD!!! Without food, we loose nutrients from the body. We get dizzy and we get woozy. It's not good for our bodies. I am athletic at 100 pounds, 5'4' and I would rather be that then a walking barbie doll. You should too. The best thing you can do is get off the computer and go outside and exercise. Do anything fun, and don't think about anything. Roller blade, ride your bike, swim in your pool(if you have one), invite your friends over, and stay active. If you have ever read the book "The Secret" by Rhonda B. it tells about when you think about things, the universe brings them to you even if you are saying "I am fat." By saying this, you are bringing more pounds onto yourself, even if you are just thinking about it. Stop eating pudding and a bag of grapes for lunch, because we need food. Plus, you are telling the universe that you care too much about your weight. It brings more attention to the subject. I highly reccomend reading this book or taking up on a chinese energy revitalizing peaceful method.
I do it, and it helps me loads. It's called Zhan Zhuang, meaning "standing like a tree." In these exercises, you literally stand like a tree. Read The Way of Energy: mastering the chinese art of internal strength with the Chi Kung exercise by Master Lam Kam Chuen. I am not Chinese, but it really helps. Meditating is also great. I would tell you more about this stuff, and how great it is, because it's also my favorite subject to talk about, but I don't wish to bore you. Google things. It helps you feel better about yourself, and it helps you tap into the Earth's energy. I do Do things to keep your mind off the subject, and you will be fine. Don't worry about it, and keep active and you will find yourself losing weight. You will not lose weight by sitting around on the computer, pondering for answers while thinking "I am fat," and "I need to lose weight.

You never HAVE to go anorexic. And let me tell you, its sooo not worth it. More things happen to you then you learn about in health class... they teach you about the physical, and some of the emotional, but there are more emotional depression things that go along with anorexia then you could ever imagine. And if you go anorexic you may never beable to eat normally again EVER. keep in mind that a decision you make over the next week could effect you for the rest of your life. And hardly eating anything is only slightly better then being anorexic... because your body still doesn get all of the nutriants it needs from the food. And eating a light breakfast and a small dinner, which is what a lot of ppl do, they eat when they have to cuz of parents, actually counteracts itself... because when you skip lunch your metabolism slows down, and then it doesnt process your dinner as quiickly as it could. its sooo not worth it. do yourself a favor, and your family a favor, and dont go anorexic. and just cuz your friends are skinny doesnt mean you need to be. dont compare yourself to others... you are how you are, and sooner or later you have to accept that... i've had problems with the SAME thing... but you have to be who you are and love who you are... and STOP comparing yourself to your friends!

going anorexic is not worth it , it could change your life you get seriously ill. and you look incredibly unhealthy basically just eat what your body needs if your hungry eat! don't starve yourself.
i watched a program about this woman who was perfectly normal and done a test to see what would happen if you were anorexic and in the end she had to fit into a size 0 dress. She went to a docter and they said she was very ill and if she didn't go back to eating it would get harder to. She became ill really ill and you feel deppressed ect.
