Okay so I LURV all animals, pigs, sheep, cows, horses, tukeys, chickens
All the animals you can think of!!!
I cannot BELIVE that in foreign countrys they sell horse meet:mad:
Din't get me wrong I love battered sausage
And I HAAATTTEE animal cruelty,
so give me your opinion if I should become a vegetarian.
And give me advice on how to stay away from meat and how I can tell if it's suitable or not (apart from the V sign)

becoming a vegetarian isnt something that someone can tell you to or not to do... its completely your decision, its a moral issue. if you love animals so much then maybe it is the right thing, but if you love meat then maybe you can find a happy medium. try eating meat only once or twice a week, and the other nights stay away from it. and if you go with organic meat then the animals were fed a diet that was all natural. if you do decide that you would be happier as a vegetarian, thats great too, its wonderful. but you gotta make sure you get protein from something else... cuz your body needs it. but i cant tell you whether i think you should become a vegetarian or not. and for the animal cruelty part, try volunteering at an animal shelter and things like that!

~Hope it helps!

I know how you feel! I've been a vegetarian since i was 7 and now I'm 13, so I've been a vegetarian for about 6 years.Anyway, when I started I just could not think about anything but eating a burger at Burger King and other resturants, so my mom brought home veggie burgers and hotdogs one day and it tasted exacly like it so i started eating it. So ya eat veggie burgers and hotdogs.!

I've been a vegetarian since I was 4, and I'm 14 now.
It's really a personal decision. Let me tell you, it makes your life quite difficult! It's hard to order stuff at restaurants, and you have to find other sources of protein. PM me if you need more tips and help.

well i know it may be kinda harsh but think about it. God put animals on earth for food. I think someone who is a vegetarian doesn't have to eat only veggies. I think a vegetarian is someone who kinda cuts down on meet but still gets all their protein.

in the end it's up to you what you do.
But if you do want to cut out meat all together then do it in stages gradually cut down rather that comming to a complete stop quickly.
Or say 'this week i will have 3 meals with meat'

And yes people do it Horse (the french), it's all part of their culture.

If you really want a second opinion here is mine.

tHThere is nothing wrong with eating meat. It is not cruilty to animals it is just the way of life. You say youl ike all the animals right well about %50 of those animals in the world eat meat. Now I can understand about horses taht is pretty sad, but if i say that it is prejudice beucase amaricans eat cows and cows aren't that diffrent from horses we just don't ride them. If you really want to become vegiterian then go right ahead but if you don't you should know that there is nothing worng with eating meet. meat actually keeps you healthy. i realize you can get protine from beans and chese and stuff like that but Meat has alotof other stuff in it to keep you healthy.

I Personally could never be a vegiterian, becuase vegi burgers, and hotdogs are nasty in my opinion and they are called Hamburgers for a reason (no offence). But Hannah = life if right it is your descision and no one is stoppnig you.

One of my friends went vegi about 6 months ago and she loves it but I ahte it becuase i am so used to her eating meat that i offer it to her sometimes and she gives me this look that bugs me half to death. So if you do become veg promise me you won't try and push it on your friends.

Ok, i dont know if u want to believe this and and hate me or love me...but God put animals on this earth for a purpose, everything he ccreated was for a purpose. Us,animals, our money, the people that make our clothes, harvest food for us, everyone has a purpose in life, eveen things. like animals. Cows. God made cows for us to eat them. Pig is unclean to eat, so dont eat that. Well i eat bacon. and thats all. But if u go veggie thats stupid because u r basically saying i hate God and i dont care what he made for purposes. And its also u decision totally. think about it.

yea i agree but also this diet can help you. so if you do decide to go veggie, do it b/c of diet reasons- not a protest thingy

true its a personal choice but there is a reason for everything. so if every1 in the world was a veggie... animals would kinda over run ppl and there would be too many plants. but as they said its ur personal choice. do it if u want!

smiley_miley1221
12-04-2006, 11:26 PM
actually too little plants
. and ur right God did put everything there for a purpose. but before ppl ate meat they ate plants! its ur choice ppl 2 of my friends are veggies and they are christians too!

Being a vegetarian is completely up to you.

There are some pro's and con's though of being one:
- One pro is that you are taking action in something you really believe in - animal cruelty
- One con is that eating meat is the way the world works and a fact a life.. animals eat other animals and the cycle goes on.

I'm not trying to influence you in either way because I see this as a personal choice of lifestyle. You may want to talk to a parent or someone you can trust though.

PS. Yeah.. same here - I think horsemeat, kangaroo, duck, guinea pig and other abnormal things is gross.. but you know..

Hope this helps - Tasha :)

i luv animals too. what you eat is part of who you are. don't let anyone change who you are. if animals are gods creatures then you also have the choice to respect them as they often do us and as you do god... if ur a christian that is

I love animals! I hope one day to be a vet. But some animals(as people are saying)are put here for reasons like Cows, Pigs, Chicken, and that sort of stuff are suppose to be eaten. But it doesn't mean you aint a Christian if you are a vegetarian. Some people drink and smoke but are still Christians(even though they are sinning alot). People fell different about things. I personally think you should eat the one's that God has put here for us to eat but like horses, dogs, cats, and stuff like that I don't think you should eat. That's just cruel. But I don't eat fish or eggs. But I do eat squirrels.

I think that it is really just your decition. I mean if you want to be a vegen I say go for it! If you don't really want to that's o.k. too. It's your life and just like a steering weel you gotta' make it go the way you want it to. My Best friend want to become a vegen. I want to but I don't think that I can. I itaian! No more meatballs! :o But I think that you should do what you want to. Some people can't really do it like me. Then some people have that kind of will power. I don't really know what kind you are. Like some other people said if your positive that you want to become a vegen the make the tranzition slowly. Eat like meat only one a week, then one every 2 weeks and so on. And I think that it's o.k. to eat meat on like Thanksgiving and Christmas because they are special times to be with your family. Hope it helps.

i just wanna make this clear. being a vegan is different than being a vegetarian. a vegetarian is someone who doesn't eat meat or poultry (like me) and a vegan is someone who doesnt eat anything from animals, so you couldn't have milk eggs, cheese, chocolate, etc.

It tastes the same as regular meat...but it doesn't actually have meat in it.
It works for me

I am always feeling guilty when eating meat. Every vegetarian needs to know the real reasons to be a vegitarian. Look it up. What I do is eat meat once a day. (sometimes twice) Mainly for breakfest or dinner. Pack lunch at school, with no meat. That way you know that you are at least tring to vut out meat. I don' eat beef at all. I love cows. When I do eat meat, it is small portions. Like a few chicken nuggets, a salad and some fries or something. Basically have a little bit of meat and have more sides until you are ready to go from meat completely. However, it is completely up to you how to do it. If you want to become vegatarian, go for it. I always feel guilty when I eat meat. Your not alone!

EDIT: (omg i'm sorry I didn't know this thread was so old...)

Haha I became a vegetarian for the same reasons.
But I agree, it's not something that someone else can tell you to do,
you have to decide on your own.

If you do decide to become a vegetarian though,
I ate meat once a week for the first month or two when I first became vegetarian,
just like to get used to it and everything.
Good luck =]

I completely disagree.

Firstly, your saying Pigs are put on this earth for us to eat and thats fine but eating dogs and cats is cruel?? That doesn't make sense. Pigs are smarter than dogs. It is proven that they have the intelligence of a 3 year old. Watch some videos of pigs on youtube. They NEED mental stimulation. And most meat that comes from pig is very fatty anyway, so your argument doesn't make sense at all. We can easily live without pig.

Animals are on this earth for basic survival and we've evolved to a point where we don't need animals for survival and are instead much healthy without animals in our diet. (you have 40% less chance of getting cancer or heart disease as a vegetarian) That's a step forward, We only eat animals now for taste. And the way we kill them is cruel. Who says we have the right to kill an animal by torturing it in a factory farm for our taste? We should respect all walks of life IMO.

AHAHHAAHHAHA i'm sorry but i have nothing to say but laugh at that.
there are so many things wrong with that paragraph it's sickening, mostly the grammar, but also the thought path. [excuse my not-capitalizing because i don't feel like it.]
First off, cruelty is a state of mind- it's relative. Our society happens to think eating horses, dogs, and cats is cruel because 'we like them' as pets. However, other societies have no problem because that's how they were raised. Everyone can make their own eating decisions, but society and family often greatly influences their choices.

P.S. haven't you ever heard you're not supposed to start a sentence in 'but'?............
p.p.s. ain't isn't a word, it makes you sound ignorant and stupid.

Becoming a vegetarian is completly your decision. I do have a few words of wisdom for you if you ever decide to become one.

1. ALWAYS talk to a Doctor before changing your diet to no meat, to make sure it is healthy for you and you are supplementing meat with other foods.
2. Become a vegetarian for the right reasons. Most people aren't just vegetarians because the love animals, but because of what other things some meat causes.
3. Research why you should become a vegetarian. It's important you are doing it for the right reasons.

I'm a vegetarian.
I mean, I don't really like it when people are like "I LOVE eating BEEF and CHICKEN and STEAK" just to spite me, but when I think about all those poor animals, it's all good.
Sometimes I wish I could eat meat, but I am always proud of myself for being a vegetarian all my life. =]
