Just go to www.download.com and type in vob-to-avi/mpeg conveter, and you should get some program...if that dosent work try using google and type in the same thing.

Yes, I used to use DGIndex as well, but I discovered that it's much easier and hasslefree with Virtualdub-MPEG2

DVD Decrypter works the best for DVDripping.

DVD decrypter is too old to rip new DVD's. You have to use DVDFab Decrypter (also free). I rented some DVD's, but couldn't rip them with DVD decrypter, however it worked fine with DVDFab Decrypter. Anyways, they both can't rip to avi, you need some thing like "#1 DVD Ripper" to do that.

Yea, you can't adjust audio settings in Virtualdub Mpeg2, but you can demultiplex the mpeg2 or vob, so the audio file is separate. Then just convert the audio file into a format you would like and use the normal virtualdub to add the sound back in.

You can keep it as the original quality. Use rejig to demultiplex and it will rip the sound file as a mp2 or m2a sound file. These can be ac3 quality (1536kbps) depending on what the original is. Then just convert it to a mp3 or an mp3 disguised as a wav file, so that you can add it back to the video in virtualdub.

srry srry. Try using dvd shrink to rip the episode out of the dvd. It works and takes like 6 min. it rips it and goes to .vob than u need to convert it just a tip.
